I think it's a combination of things. We always have started slow under Poch. Not surprising it's happened again. The atmosphere is also shit at Wembley. It's almost like we have to play 38 away matches in the league this year. I'm also sure part of it is mental. Players have to start to wonder after the 80th minute or so against a team like Swansea if there is something to this "curse" thing. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. I think most of this stuff will get ironed out and we'll look more like ourselves around about December though. I only hope we can get through this and make the CL knockout stages by the time we turn it on this year.

Unfortunately so, I agree. I don't really like seeing words such as 'curses' and 'hoodoos' and such because there's nothing deeper at hand than the fact that for whatever reason we just struggle at Wembley. Giving into all that curse crap makes it sound as if things will eventually solve themselves if we just keep playing as we are but I think we need to alter how we play a lot there. IMO there should be an acknowledgement that we struggle at Wembley, not a public acknowledgement because we don't need additional pressures from the media and such but at least an in-camp acknowledgement and I hope there is and not a naivety that things will just turn around if we 'keep at it'.

To be honest I'm more concerned about picking up some sort of form and finding our feet at Wembley for the remainder of the league than I am the Champions League.

Actually made it home in reasonable time tonight!!!
Yep, that's the highlight of my evening, although the seats in 101 are comfy and have cup holders.

The match?!? Fucking awful... again.
That's 3 times this season I have witnessed Sissoko in the flesh and I cannot get my head around why he is selected.
There was too much fannying around with the ball by the midfielders. Probably the best chance we had before the goal was a long ball over the top which Son nearly latched onto.
There's nothing wrong with mixing the game up a bit, but it seems the players want multiple touches and to play that magical little ball through - it doesn't work!!

I've spent about £200 so far this season on tickets and travel, and I've seen nothing to entice me back any time soon.

I agree. Yet we keep going back for more!

At the end of the Swansea game I said I needed a break from us but I'll be there at the next game and I bet lots of others feeling the same way will be too! :)

Had four lads in front of me last night sharing a massive bag of pick'n'mix and tutting every time we cocked up. Also they returned the "We're the park lane" chants with "We're the West side" (whilst sat in the east side of the stadium). Pretty much summed my night up

I hugely rate him but he was well off the pace, nowhere near fitness. There was a moment in the second half though where I did find myself pining for Janssen just for a moment!
He looked tired after ten minutes, I think later on in the season he will be banging them in but the delivery from wide areas was fairly poor m. When we have a monster up front I was frustrated to see us play put from the back over and over again.

Because all our players will walk out if they don't have a Carabao Cup winners medal.

Nothing like an extreme polar opposite view.

Imo I don't see the downside in "focusing" on this cup. To win it you only need to play a handful of games, the final will be played at "home", it stops the rot of not winning anything and its all over before the business end of the season starts.

I spent the first half in block 123. With tourists and some Tottenham fans. To the left of me you could hear the park lane sing stand up if you hate arsenal twice and everyone around me was sat down. They only clapped and to my right you could hear Barnsley making all the noise in the stadium. Ruined my night felt depressed Second half I walked around to group of Tottenham fans who was making all the noise, and walked past the Stewart’s and stood up singing for the whole of the second half made my night
I was very jealous of anyone sat in with them. Made a point of telling my dad and brothers (who i went with) that for games like that, i'd much rather sit in the "Park Lane" end with a poor view, than sit in decent seats with no atmosphere at all. Even if the cost of the seats wouldn't be much different

Don't know if anyone on here was in the group sitting in Block 112 last night, right by the away fans? Iif there are, I hope you all had as much of a laugh as I did! :ROFLMAO: Easily the most fun I've had at Spurs in ages. Barnsley are a strange bunch though.

I agree entirely. That does not mean we "need" to win it.

Nothing much, just good stick going between home and away fans for 90 minutes, as nobody really gave a shit about the match. And because it was empty, you could actually hear the shit everyone was saying to each other across the barrier. All "in the moment" stuff that was a great laugh last night but probably needed to be there to find most of it funny I'm sure, so won't try to give examples haha.
