We continue to make mistake after mistake. Kane dropped deep and lost possession, with the ball going off for a corner. Lisao who's their biggest threat from a corner glides in unmarked and scores. You couldn't make this shit up!
We're a shambles top to bottom.
Just look at the benfica players, besides Cardozo they're all fast, nimble, quick passing, up and down the pitch like gazelles. You then look at our players. Slow passing, slow movement, defo not nimble and the majority with no footballing brain. We don't even look fit. I would question the fitness coaches and dietitians at the club. How the hell have we become so bad? We have zero cohesion on the pitch and might as well have no manager because it looks like the players are having a free for all anyway. This season couldn't end sooner!

Im dreding the lane being a libary and the goons having the place to sing to themselves. Cant we just have an old fashioned riot and pitch invasion if we loose? Getting a new stadium anyway...

Well the sooner Dawson is out of MY club the better. All those "Hollywood" balls to nobody, constantly jumping in on the halfway line, getting turned to easily, no fucking pace, losing his fucking man constantly, making other players play shit etc etc.

I can't wait till Kaboul and Verts start at CB and Dawson isn't anywhere near the starting 11, just you watch us then........................

Hang on a minute

Performance wise. Our displays under AVB were dire, no attacking whatsoever unless Bale took it and ran. Dawson had the ball for most of the 90 mins and it actually made me lose interest in football altogether! There's no arguing that our football was so negative, at least we used to score under Sherwood, however now it's just seems they're a bunch of headless chickens.

What did you see in AVB's management that made you positive about him? Serious question

And our displays under Sherwood are so much better? where is the attacking football he promised? how many chances did we create against Chelsea and Benfica? Why is our most creative player stuck out on the left?

Most successful teams have one outstanding player that scores most of his team's goals. What's your point? We should have appointed Bale as our head coach?

Nope , try reading - The point is @CrazyHeart was lauding AVB's tactics for the reason we won those games when I'm pointing out there was more to it.

AVB's tactical changes were the main influence in the outcome of those games. Bale's contribution was important but not the main reason for us winning those games.

Dude there's no need to misquote me - I didn't say that AVB's tactics were solely responsible! Granted, they have a big part to play, but they're not the be-all. I said it was a team effort - and that includes the manager. "WE IS US".

Actually... quite the contrary, it's you who seems to think that Bale was a superman, and it was he and he alone that accounted for whatever success Spurs enjoyed last season. Nice thought, but it's just flat-out false.

AVB's system relies on a regista which he had at Porto. He simply fit the pieces around Moutinho oh and it helped having one of the best forwards in Europe as well.

From time he didn't get Moutinho his system was never going to work and was too inexperienced and stubborn to change it to suit the players.

They worked just fine when we took out City, United, Arsenal and Liverpool last season in charge.

Not misquoting you, I said that AVB's tactics had nothing to do with those wins (apart from the City game) and this is true. Seeing as we were talking about AVB's Porto and how he liked to play, the only performance that resembled anything like that team was the City game where he changed it to 4-3-3 and we won the game 3-1

The other games....please prey tell where we looked like a cohesive team who looked in control for 90 mins, where we had players interchanging positions and fluidity in our moves..because I didn't see much of it. If you picked out the Inter game at home where we won 3-0, or the West Ham game 3-1, Reading away 3-1 etc...then I'd agree with you but not on 3 of the 4 games you picked. Seriously go back and watch those matches and you'll see that Bale' was the main protagonist.

Yeah well done with your extremes - have you hear of middle ground when you argue?

That was basically a champions league quality team we played against and Sherwood started Kane and Naughton. The guy is out of his depth and the sooner he is sacked the better.

Oh and get rid of Ferdinand as well, the guy is useless! I remember when he became out striker coach and our strikers just stopped scoring. Awful.

Agree about kane when soldado sat on bench

Who was the better player last night - Kane or Adebayor?

Who wanted to be out there, gave a f*ck and tried to make things happen?

Granted Kane made a mistake, but at least it showed he wanted us to get a foothold in the game, and get involved himself.
Besides Sherwood as manager, should have told Kane to stay up the field and let our midfielders get into the game and supply the ball to him further up the field.

I am bit concerned we have the Ade we all loathe back, seems to have lost interest again.
He needs to be subbed when he performs like this to show he is not invincible.

Nothing like an NLD to stoke the flames again?

COYS (you can't do this to us year after year, give us loyal fans something to smile about!)

Dude - chill. You saying that AVB's tactics had NOTHING to do with those wins, while I say they were part and parcel of a bigger picture... who's really being extreme here?

I can rarely remember being so fed up with Spurs. What a witless performance, no organisation, no plan, no one with the ability to create anything (except marginally Eriksson).
We had a chance with Bale, we had some chance with the Bale money but we have wasted it.
I was excited about Paulinho coming, assuming that the star of Brazil's midfield would have to be good but he is so average it is not true.
Leaving Townsend on the bench and bringing on Bentaleb when chasing the game- utterly clueless.
I dont understand why anyone would even consider keeping Tim. He is a regular geezer but so what, we want someone who can manage a team, meaning getting the best out of the players we have, given we cant afford to buy a load more. Harry did that of course but given we have to have someone foreign, we had better begin the search for the foreign Harry.

I remember such a time... it was when Glenn Hoddle was in charge.

Looking at a couple of the games this week, what struck me most, and I suppose its obvious, is the speed and nimbleness of the top players and teams. The fast movement, the energy, the ability to pass and receive a ball. No stoppers and cloggers. We seem to have built a team for the Championship, not the Champions League. We just seem so sluggish in comparison.

Yeah but 10-12 years ago we were used to being an average team so it didnt hurt so much. Games were enjoyed more because expectations were low.

Since our first fifth place under Jol we have all started to feel entitled to success and as such expect to be challenging for everything.

As has been said before we have something like the 6th best budget and are finishing mostly 5th or above. In a lot of ways we are over achieving.

They looked so quick when attacking last night. Especially on the wings

Which made me think: when was the last time we moved the ball with that kind of pace? And we have Lennon and Townsend (at times on the wings)

We look so slow in everything we do
