I disagree. We will have chances against a team that wants to attack. Not hang on for the draw. Not one team so far this season has come to play us at Wembley never Chelsea sat back. City will come to play. And this will open up the game. Which will in turn give us oppotunities. Whether they score more than us remains to be seen. But. We will look better against teams that want to play football.
As much as I'm happy that we are third and are very much steady eddy etc I really can't see us beating city, they look a class apart from anyone else and the rest of us are on catch up imo.

At times Lloris comes up with howlers in big games, but days like today he is the unheralded hero.

That superb save with a low left hand was just world class. I just hope he keeps this focus levels at this level.

But they did last season and we beat them
2-0 without Kane. I’m really positive that we are only going to get better. Our away form is electric. And we are only going to get better at home. (Hopefully). Don’t get me wrong. I don’t underestimate City. But I also don’t underestimate our progression and the fact we have kept the same team for nigh on three seasons. We have a good chance to do something special this year. Just keep the consistency. And see where we end up.

I actually meant beat city to the title this season, not them in the match.

I'm sure we will smash teams this season a la man city right now, but my point is that when that counter broke i wasnt 100% confident we would get the goal.

He meant they looked unbeatable last season and a class apart, then we beat them and finished above them.

Long way to go.

I know Jan did well out of position but Lloris won us that game. We'd have been in deep shit if he hadn't have pulled off that stop.

Saw more today to be optimistic about than negative. The team is slowly building and players adapting to formations. We did look tired late in the game but that is understandable when so many have played very important internationals this last week.

Back from the game and a few pubs, so apologies in advance for incoherence and spelling mistakes.

Happy with the first league home win and the 3 points. Pretty much dominated but Bournemouth certainly didn't come to put 10 behind the ball and I thought played well, albeit against a much bigger, stronger and technically better side. In fact, they had the best chance in the first half and only a superb save from Lloris down to his left kept us level.

The goal changed the game as they normally do and about 5 mins after we also for about 30 seconds got the whole stadium singing as one, it didn't last long though and the songs went back to their sporadic stops and starts in different areas of the stadium and kept petering out :(

I thought Harry was dragged down for a definite penalty in the 2nd half but I've not seen that on any text commentary and doubt it will be on Motd, so did it happen, was I wrong, is it about perspective and angles? I guess the point is that someone watching the game in person, via a stream or highlights will see different things.

I thought Alli was excellent today with great one-touch passing and some amazing runs that either wasn't picked out or needed eye of the needle passes that the man in possession wasn't comfortable playing, he kept making them though and never let his head drop (others may disagree on his performance today).

Winks was great too, always moving and busy. Sissoko had a really good cameo using his power to win the ball on a few occasions and then again to take the ball further up the field. His pass to N'Kodou in the last minute was criminal though.

Overall though back to our 100% away record and bring on Madrid :)

Maybe because teams tend to bank uo and put 10 men behind the ball at Wembley...

They did it at WHL as well though. The difference was we played at a higher tempo galvanised by a much better atmosphere a lot of the time - and that affected the opposition a lot more.

At Wembley we labour, the atmosphere is consequently pretty drab and the opposition can settle into executing their gameplan a lot more comfortably than they did at WHL.

It's that simple for me.

It's psychological (for the fans as much as the players). We've swept aside good teams on pitches as big as Wembley. Getting that first league win is a massive boost. It will take a bit of time for the players to adjust to the new fan dynamic too.

Good teams come out to play though, certainly looking forward to the Liverpool game, at least they'll have a proper go. Expect the atmosphere to be better this Sunday.
