You mistake mediocrity with transition and progress, I'm not happy with our recent results but I appreciate that we are not halfway along the road to where I firmly believe we are headed. When you have 63% of posession and mostly in the opponents half you are ready to work on the next step to overcome the packed defence.
I feel your pain sunnydelight' but its not like you to lose the positives.
Ummm... not being able to pass a ball forwards or giving the ball away to cheaply and far to often has got the square root of fuck all to do with transition and progress, it has everything to do with a woefully inadequate squad.

How many times this season have we been out played by teams from all different levels... and last season, the season before last, the one before that and most certainly a few more before that.

We are just lucky that we have had Kane, Eriksen (Edit: and Lloris) this season, other wise we would be in the bottom half of the table.

Doesn't that apply to a lot of teams in the world, where without their better players they'd be further down the league? E.g. Arsenal without Sanchez and Cazorla, United without De Gea and Rooney, West Ham without Sakho and Noble, Chelsea without Costa and Fabregas...

Seriously...

I mean, really seriously...

Do you not think that ManU, Chelsea, Arsenal have good enough squads anyway? Chelsea have more than enough to be at the top of the league without those players... and all the other teams you mention...

I thought we played well, but lacking final third again. I thought we deserved to win, but Chelsea were professional and do what they do well. I am pleased with the effort put in and the attitude. I am not going away from this result with depression. Thanks Tottenham - a great Cup series.

Its easy to say that when he has won but would he have been so kind if he had lost Im not so sure.
Don't give me that shelfboy I bet you're perfectly sure :)
I don't doubt he means it thats why he deployed every dirty trick in the book but if he'd lost he'd have slagged us off something rotten. I bet he was happy with the referee too.

Every season could be described ad transitional, the only positive so far is the squad appears fitter.
Possession stats IMO are a red herring, meaningless if you are devoid of attacking nous, lots of teams have us Sussex and are happy for us to have the ball.

He started his agenda on sky sports show last weekend although i have to admit he is a clever **** it gets him results.
As for the ref i thought he did ok really the officials have struggled all season imo.

That was a strange match. I usually come away extremely depressed when we loose a game, like the Liverpool game for example. But not this time. I'm disappointed yes, but also extremely proud. Chelsea beat us through two deflected goals, the first of which was our own fault and that's it, with only one other notable save by Hugo I can remember.

Losing to Chelsea's negative football is painful, they did this against Liverpool last season and it worked a treat. I can only think of Mourinho setting up against our young team like that as some kind of weird compliment. Our wing play had to be better, as the midfield was a no go zone with 3 Chelsea centre backs on the field, but nevermind, this is a young team I just hope we learn and in the summer get some more options for the wings.

Bentaleb was my MOTM, simply for how he kept Fabregas and Ramires in check for 90 minutes. With Dier a close second. If they carry on as they are their going to be some players.

Really proud if our boys. Everything I want in a team and we will learn and grow from this. A few ins this summer(attacking options and a special player a must) and I really think we will have a team to be proud of

I'm proud of them now

That's because, for us, every season bloody well is transitional:)! this one is different I think, because we will give it more than 18 months.
Possession stats are a red herring I have always said that but for one thing. if you have the ball you can use it and create chances, it is when you have mastered that that possession stats are meaningfull, I know teams sit back against us and that improves our possession stats but when you are having such levels against leading sides then that is not just them letting us have the ball.
I think we will develop that diversity of attack that will break down those packed defences which is why I see progress.

...our possession stats are deceptive because we make way too many short layoff passes in transition, which pads our stats but slows us down, allowing our opponents to set up defensively...

I was actually more disappointed with the Fiorentina result that yesterdays, because we are so much better than Fiorentina, and that Soldado balls up:mad:

Agree, we basically threw the first leg by starting Paulinho and Soldado. Yea I know they contributed to our only goal but after 7 days rest from the Liv game I don't understand why our strongest team wasn't picked. Still pretty pissed off with Poch about that tbh

Just saw this on SO...

"It's like narrowly losing a race to a drugs cheat."

So true.
Sums it up perfectly. Like being the bloke who came in second to Lance Armstrong in the TdF all those times. You know its fucking crooked, but you just can't prove it.

Oh fuck off mourinho you patronising ****!!!! Guys, don't fall for his " praise" bullshit because if we would of won like when we smashed them 5-3 he would be sulking and complaining. He's always happy and joking giving off praise to a " great team" when his diving ****s win but the moment they lose he goes into prick mode. Used to like him but the guy is such a wanker!!! His words mean nothing because it's never geniune
