Did anyone else notice in the 31st minute that Kane was flagged offside from a throw in??

Makes you wonder how they keep getting big games...

Prior to our goal I was starting to think that Chelsea had our number and had kept us at arms length, the fact that we persisted and broke them down was the most impressive facet of the win for me.

I hadn't really noticed Eriksen probing in that area, goes to show that we should have faith in what our players are doing because they clearly have a set plan each game.

Yeah, I noticed that last night rewatching the match. Rose seemed to notice but Kane didn't appear to make any fuss about it.

It happened right in front of me and what amazed me is none of the players seemed to pull the officials up on it, so I assumed it was a foul or something. Haven't seen a replay mind.

For me, the "you're shit" chant was very annoying. Because they aren't. They're a top side.

For us to be chanting "you're shit" when we're beating the Premiership leaders 2-0 just seems perverse. Why would we want to label the top side that we are dismantling as "shit" when we're in the process of beating them soundly?

Pure wind up David. The chav fans would have been smarting as it was, losing to us. It was like rubbing salt into the wounds and would have driven them crazy.

I'm no fan of the chant, but in this case I felt it was just about perfect.

Im still struggling to work out what happened there...i dont think he gave it as offside, if you watch it again, Harry is sort of grappling with Luiz as the throw comes in, but Cahill is foot or 2 behind them.
When Danny goes to take the throw, Atkinson comes over to him and has a word with him, and this just followed a bit of a cruncher between Rose and Moses....yet the signal the ref gives looks like the one they use for offside.
In conclusion....fuck knows !
Hope I've been of assistance ;)

Yeah Atkinson totally points at the linesman and motions at offside to Kane. Bizarre.

I hate that Conte seems like a decent guy and not like the typical ****s who manage rich teams.

So unlike the team he manages.

Don't be fooled, they had a big lead and its only 3 pts less so he could afford to accept the defeat. he also had no choice as he had nothing in the game that he could have complained about from a refereeing point of view.

If they had scored a few goals you would quickly start hating all the jumping around he does.

Me? I'm cynical as fuck when it comes to Chelsea, lol.

You get the feeling that if we weren't in 3rd right now, Souness wouldn't be including us in the 'race for the title' talk.

No, Souness has been bigging us up for well over a year now. He actually love the Poch's spurs. i think like a lot of people he expects us to always fuck it up near the end tho. wish i could blame him for that but i understand.

Rose committed a foul along the touchline which was not spotted by Atkinson but was by the assistant. After discussing the incident with the assistant, Atkinson came over to have a word with Rose and then gave the ball to Chelsea on the throw. He shouldn't have signaled for offside but it was a make-up call.

We scored the same amount of goals as stoke did against them. I'm happy with the performance overall I just don't think we were amazing going foward and could do better that's all I'm saying.

By that logic Lloris was shit, he only made two easy saves.

I agree and would add that it takes time to get to know one's players. Changing tactics becomes much easier after a manager has had a season or two to work out, by experimenting on the training pitch, which combinations of players are best suited to implement the different kind of tactics. Until he got to that point, it made sense for Pochettino to stick to the basic format.

Also, I think that retaining the same formation for the first season or two made it easier for the players to learn each others' games. If you're constantly changing the shape of the team while the players are still getting to know what their teammates are likely to do, it adds an avoidable layer of complication and confusion.

Its always worth bearing in mind that the best managers look at team development over the course of a number of years, even if they are rarely given that amount of time to play with.

Indeed, and obviously why keeping a manager longterm to see the fruits of what you're talking about will better any signing.

Yes he talks about the side with respect. I thin he likes the energy, work rate and tough way we play alongside the skill. But let's face it we are all holding back judgment on the team because as yet we have not won anything. To be really taken seriously we need to become winners; talk of potential is just that, talk

Yeah I keep reading that his distribution is shit...but looking into it further he's one of the best in the league.

http://www.squawka.com/football-pla...01/2017#season#1#all-matches#total#desc#total

That's for this season so far, but last season is a similar story as well.
It's a myth that his distribution is poor, I think it stems from the fact that we all watch pretty much every minute of every spurs game, and not so much of the other teams...
Very good point!

Lloris is in the top 10 for best passing percentage in both long and short passing for keepers in the top 4 leagues in Europe. People remembering that one time where someone almost caught one of his passes or another time where we conceded a throw in doesn't change the fact that he's very good with his feet. Even though his touch doesn't look as silky as De Geas, Reinas or Valdes.
