We should definitely win this match. Palace will be one of the easiest games this season as they have almost no attacking threats and we have a very strong defense.

I think we should aim for:
  • A clean sheet. Anything less than that against a Benteke-less Palace (I heard he wouldn't be allowed play yet) would be pretty shameful.
  • A couple of goals up front. Maybe rest Kane for the game as he said he isn't at full fitness yet after the Euros and start Janssen as he looks very promising.
  • If we're up by 2/3 goals, bring on Onomah, Carter-Vickers, etc. or maybe even Edwards for his debut.

Remarkably, this will be the first Spurs Premier League match I've ever been to.

But I feel I should tell you guys that the last Spurs match I went to was the 0-1 defeat to Palace in the FA Cup last season.

Sorry in advance :(

You know Townsend will end up sticking one into the top corner from 30 yards

I hate these sort of posts before a match, saw plenty of them before Everton last week.
I will take a win, any sort of win and if we don't I'm personally blaming you vertongHen

My prediction: Spurs 3 (Kane 2, Janssen) Palace 1 (Townsend)

Or, to put it more poetically...

Kane and Janssen to score all three
Their goal from our ex-winger
We'll get the win and make angry

Palace will come and park the bus. They will spring the odd attack hoping to score , that I'm sure will be the blue print of the game.
I hope we have the tools to break them down by whatever means possible score lots and concede non, get confidence in our play belief in our mindset nicely for the games ahead.

Fast start this week please. Wouldn't be surprised to see Dier or Wanyama dropped and Mason in (or Alli CM and Janssen in if Poch is feeling adventurous).

They're a shit side but will be up for it, need to match them from the off.

Can't wait.

Have a bad feeling about this one for some reason.

They are an appalling football team with an appalling manager but every season we get one of these bad days at the office. I think this one could be it if we don't get off to a fast start.

For some reason, Pardew always does well against us. They will be an awkward team and they will have threat on the break with Townsend. We will need to shut down Cabaye in midfield and not give him time on the ball.

If we start lethargically like we did against Everton the nerves could set in and the crowd could get restless.

However, I think we have enough quality to get the win. I fancy 2-0, Kane and Lamela again. I fancy Lamela for a big season this time out.
