Not a good first half, but to the honest, Dortmund didn't create that much in the first half. In the second half, we outplayed them and we deserved to win. We had many more chances than they had.

Great job tonight and a really enjoyable game. I think that's the first time we've beaten a team that have really pressed us over the last few years. Very encouraging signs.

Only saw them in real time but were the offside decisions correct (2 for them, 1 for us-Son)?

Nah. He's not even crossing much now. Does a Walker and cuts inside everytime. Makes much more sense using this season to bring KWP into the fold imo. Don't think it's a huge risk v tripps playing.
Surely thats just as much a tactical/coaching problem as it is Trippers problem.

We just won our first Champions League game against Dortmund at Wembley and there were discussions of the worse players donning our shirts over the years leading from Sissoko mockery..

Surely a better time?

Sissoko is my hero, I had a tenner on 3-1 and it was never in doubt as he burst forward!!

On my stream the commentary was great (think it was BT).

'Its Sissoko, he's never scored for spurs!!!'

'Ohh, and he still hasn't'

What a win, so proud and pleased to do Dortmund how we did. Brave performance, pragmatic approach from Poch to sit a bit and counter.
I am not entirely sure that was by design, well first half anyway, Dortmund just were very good and our midfield was stretched all the time. But I think second half they ran out of steam a little, and yes maybe Poch thought at that point the only way to beat this team is to beat that high line, and probably try and keep the ball a little better- we did but again I think the slick passing of the first half was slower in the second.

Could do this all day really, sissoko doesn't even make top 30

Very harsh on Etherington - he was very mis-managed by Hoddle and was a class left winger when given a run (unfortunately Hoddle dropped him for Poyet as soon as he became available even though that season we started with Davies and Etherington on wing and were tearing teams up).

I really liked Etherington and if he'd been managed better during his career he'd have been a top player.

Imagine slotting Big Vic in the hole as well - Aurier, Sanchez and Wanyama is straight up naaaasty

Fecking hell. I'd have stayed in the changing room, and I never shied away from a challenge!
Best thing is that they can all play too.

Immense statement tonight. We weathered a thunderstorm of possession and pressure first half, then came out and took control of the game in the second. Defenders were immense throughout, Aurier and Davies were superb, and the midfield grew into it.

My motm though was Kane. An outstanding all round performance, we are watching a true legend being written before our eyes with him.

Anyone got a good link for match highlights? My brother is abroad and missed the match...he asked me to find a link.
Always look for matchhighlights dot com after the match. They keep the highlights up a pretty long time too.

I dunno. It might be psychological; seemed to just switch that way when Walker left and he was #1.

Either way, now that SA is here I think bringing KWP throughout now makes more sense. don't want him to have to hang around forever, hardly being used, like onomah, before being loaned out.

I'm not the only one thinking that that was tactical the way we played first half. It was a gamble no doubt. I suppose though when you have the quality we have upfront that's a gamble worth taking. Let em have it, hit them on the break and at 60 mins they were shot. Eriksen was anonymous until the second half and then he just started taking them apart. We rode our luck early on, then we just played it out and could have won by more.

Neale Fenn and Rory Allen the young future stars leading our line. Certainly halcyon days compared to the having the likes of the useless Kane and Ali

I remember that, bad times lol as both Sheringham and Armstrong just could not stay fit tha season due to our questionable medical staff at time and Gerry Francis' 'terror tuesdays' that seemed to cause a lot of injuries...

lining up against Manchester United with Allen and Fenn gah...
