17:41 Andros Townsend is flipped over the advertising boards and has landed in a photographers' dugout, that is a bizarre fall and he may be in strife there. Play has continued as he is very much off the pitch. A photographer is being treated as well after that collision.
17:37 GOAL - Tottenham 1-0 Hull - Roberto Soldado (Pen)
The new Matt Le Tissier? Roberto Soldado is very, very good at spot kicks, addressing the ball while waiting for Steve Harper to move and then just flicking the ball into the corner. Cool as a cucumber.
Substitution Jermain Defoe replaces Aaron Lennon.
Plan B is on, Jermain Defoe replaces Aaron Lennon for Tottenham as we tick into the last 20 minutes. Can Defoe bring his Europa League form to the Prem?
Substitution Christian Eriksen replaces Lewis Holtby.
Booking Vlad Chiriches (Tottenham Hotspur) is shown the yellow card for a bad foul.
Sub: Half-time sub for us - Dembele for Sandro.
Half Time Tottenham Hotspur 0, Hull City 0.
Booking Sandro (Tottenham Hotspur) is shown the yellow card for a bad foul.

Tottenham Hotspur will be aiming to continue their solid start to the season when they take on Hull City at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Andre Villas-Boas' men suffered a surprise 3-0 defeat against London rivals West Ham in their previous home match but bounced back to win 2-0 at Aston Villa last weekend.

The result kept Spurs within three points of leaders Arsenal and they are sure to move up from fifth with another victory over Hull, with Chelsea and Manchester City facing each other.

One of the main challenges for Tottenham this season, though, will be how they juggle the demands of returning to domestic action playing in the Europa League on Thursday, and a long trip to Moldova to take on FC Sheriff is sure to have taken its toll.

Hull will hope to capitalise on any fatigue as they try to respond to last weekend's 2-1 defeat away by Everton.

Steve Bruce was angered by some of the key decisions that he felt went against his side at Goodison Park, but he will be proud of the way his players have acquitted themselves all season.

The Tigers have proved to be extremely competitive on their return to the top fight and currently occupy a secure position in mid-table after collecting 11 points from their opening eight games.

Tottenham
Danny Rose and Younes Kaboul are set to miss Tottenham's Premier League clash with Hull.

The pair on the verge of a return after toe and adductor complaints respectively, but Villas-Boas does not expect to have them available for Sunday's return to domestic action.

Etienne Capoue is also likely to miss out, while Zeki Fryers is a doubt after limping off in the first half of Thursday's Europa League victory at FC Sheriff.

Kyle Walker, Andros Townsend and Paulinho will return to the fold, having been rested for the trip to the Moldovan champions.

Hull City
Hull will be without three regulars when they visit Tottenham on Sunday.

Midfielder Jake Livermore is unable to play as he is on loan from Spurs, while goalkeeper Allan McGregor (thigh) and Danny Graham (knee) have both been consigned to the sidelines following last week's defeat at Everton.

Steve Harper, David Meyler and Yannick Sagbo are set to come in, but James Chester (hamstring) and Robert Koren (foot) are still unavailable.

Tottenham pair Danny Rose and Younes Kaboul remain sidelined.

Paulinho, Andros Townsend and Kyle Walker will return to the starting line-up after being rested for the midweek clash with Sheriff Tiraspol.

Hull are definitely without injured goalkeeper Allan McGregor and Danny Graham, while Sone Aluko (calf) and Robbie Brady (hernia) are major doubts.

In addition, on-loan midfielder Jake Livermore is ineligible to play against his parent club.

Most of us, I am sure, at some stage in our lives have been determined to prove someone wrong, for whatever reason. This is surely going to be a big match for Hull's Tom Huddlestone, who will want to show Andre Villas-Boas that the Tottenham boss made a mistake in allowing him to leave White Hart Lane in the summer.

Huddlestone has been an excellent buy for the Tigers, who travel to the capital this weekend having made a decent start the season, with 11 points from their opening eight matches. The Hull midfielder has played in all of their Premier League matches so far this season, but hasn't as yet got his first goal for the club.

This is becoming quite an issue, as he has promised not to cut his hair until he scores a goal, as a way of raising money for charity.

His last strike was in April 2011, for Spurs in a 3-3 draw against Arsenal in the north London derby. What a moment it would be for Huddlestone if he could score against his former club; as we all know, the law of the ex means it's the sort of thing that may just happen so Hull barbers are surely on standby!

On the face of it, a lack of goals have been a problem for the Championship runners-up, just seven so far in the Premier League, although that's only one fewer than Spurs.

Tottenham are making a speciality of keeping clean sheets in the league this season, but their last home match saw them concede three in the defeat to West Ham.

Their win at Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday saw them virtually through to the knockout stages of the Europa League, with Jermain Defoe equalling Martin Chivers' record of 22 goals for the club in European competition.

It's the first of two meetings between these clubs this week, as on Wednesday they meet again at White Hart Lane in the Capital One Cup. This Sunday is the priority for both, and Hull supporters will have fond memories of their first ever Premier League visit to Tottenham back in 2008.

I'm looking forward to finding out whether they can win again at the Lane.

facts.jpg

Head-to-head

  • Hull have only won one once at White Hart Lane - 1-0 in October 2008. They drew 0-0 on their only other visit to Spurs in the top flight the following season.
  • They have only met on 24 previous occasions. Tottenham have won 10 times, Hull six and there have been eight draws.

Tottenham

  • All eight of Tottenham's Premier League goals this season have either been assisted or scored by a summer signing.
  • Spurs have kept the most clean sheets in the top flight this campaign (five), along with Southampton.
  • They have not won their last two Premier League home games - they haven't gone three home league games without a win since May 2011.
  • Sixteen points equals their best start to a Premier League season after eight matches.

Hull City

  • Including this fixture, all of Hull's away games this season have been against teams in the top 10 of the league going into this weekend's matches (Chelsea, Man City, Newcastle, Everton and Tottenham).
  • The Tigers have collected just one win from their last 28 Premier League matches away from home (D7, L20).
  • Only the bottom three and Stoke City have scored fewer than Hull's seven goals this season.
  • Hull have used fewer players than any other Premier League side this season (17).

With everyone else around us winning today, imperative we pick up 3 points tomorrow. Would be a bonus to get a 3 or 4 winning margin, that goal difference needs a boost also.

The three points is by far the most important thing tomorrow, but I must admit I would love to see us score a fair few goals tomorrow - its long overdue.

Indeed, we definitely need a win, and could do with a few goals too - but Hull are a tougher proposition than we might think, so it could still be a tricky game...

Really is no excuse for not winning this one comfortably with their depleted squad. Less of the slow tempo guff and liven things up tomorrow please Spurs.

Spot on.

I want us to come flying out the blocks and just play with a high intensity and passion - Hull won't know what's hit them.

It's about time we beat someone convincingly.

I'll be a bit miffed if we're unchanged from Villa

My ex-boss is a Tigers Season ticket holder and has seen them play all season. Livermore and Hudd have been their two best players so he says. Livermore isnt playing and neither is their first choice keeper. Harper, ex of Newcastle is playing tomorrow and they have a lengthy injury list.
He reckons they'll be lucky to escape with a hard fought small loss tomorrow.

I'm going on a hunch that we will grind out a win, play at a slow tempo and win the passing in the middle 3rd..

This self-deprecation would usually expand my confidence but after West Ham fans were saying that they were going to be thrashed and we lost 0-3, I no longer believe in feeding off the negativity of opposition fans
