Really pleased after watching it again. Don't think 1 player had a bad game. Just a shame hart had the game of his life (what is it with away keepers having the game of their lifes at the lane??)

Before the game they was announceing the squad and our bench just looked so strong. And that kind of depth is what title winning sides are built on. Not saying we are even goin to challenge this year, but we aren't far off. It's hard to find a bad player in our starting squad these days.

Having just watched the game again myself, I`m now even more irked that we didn`t take all three points, we really should have won that game against top four rivals....Grrrrrrrrr!

When you consider that jenas, kranjcar and hutton were not on the bench, nor the injured Ohara, bentley, woodgate or even Rose, it shows how much depth we have... And sandro isn't even here yet.

Despite the frustration of the final result, but by looking from another point of view, I would rather take this draw knowing that we had pummelled Man City (who are one of our big rivals for a CL place again) throughout the first half and parts of the second, than if we had had a draw after being outplayed by them. It was generally only Hart, and not so much their other defensive players, that prevented us from getting a win.

Mancini deployed a defensive formation, with only one striker, yet we were able to have so many shots on target. Prior to the game, how many of us would have expected us to be so dominant as we were in the first half. I know I wasn't, although I had expected a win nonetheless.

Had we managed a goal in the first half, the game would probably have opened up and we would likely have scored more. The short spell in the second half, when Man City had got the better of us, was likely due to our players losing a bit of confidence (arisen out of the frustration of not being able to score despite our dominance). However, we didn't give up altogether and managed to up our game again.

Modric seemed to tire out towards the end of the game, which was probably due to him playing the full game for Croatia in mid-week.
We can only get better, especially as I have a strong feeling (not ITK) that we will bring in a top striker before the current window closes.

If we continue in this same vein, we will likely win more games than we would draw or lose (combined) throughout the coming season.

I'm enjoying this season already and looking forward to the YB games and beyond.

I'm just watching the highlights again and I've just realised how pissed off I am that Defoe didn't score when he was one on one with Hart!!! I think even Kaboom would have scored that!

I can give Bale a let off somewhat because it was on his weak foot

But on 2nd (and 3rd) viewings, I suspect young Gareth didn't realise how much time and space he had. I wonder if he could have got it down and hit it with his left?

When you consider that jenas, kranjcar and hutton were not on the bench, nor the injured Ohara, bentley, woodgate or even Rose, it shows how much depth we have... And sandro isn't even here yet.

Ain't that the truth.

We have more strength in depth than Arsenal.

Too true...but Robbie Keane got pilloried for saying it last year.
