Yes, malfunctioning robots. The goals were all there for the taking, but the players fluffed it. Think about it - if Eriksen, Paulinho and Soldado scored that game, in a 3-1 affair everybody would be cheering the performance. It was the finishing that was the issue not AVB.

Especially Eriksen's chance, why didn't he just hit it first time? I'm sure he would have scored if he had done that

Having just written that its just become pretty obvious to me that the lad isn't full of confidence right now, perhaps that's why his performances haven't been of the standard we know he is capable of

We have been having finishing issues since last year, heck even during the Arry's reign we had quite many games such as Hull at home that we lost, when we also had 30 something shots and the goalie had "the game of his life", and I remember Ben Foster and Sorensen having such games as well. I would think that by now AVB would have done something about it, I know I would. Of what I have seen so far their fitness is excellent, so how about AVB has them spend more time on some shooting exercises especially on those where the ball is cut back in the box and the player has to take a first time shot. AVB should set some priorities on who runs for the follow up after a free kick, I am sure we would have had a better chance of scoring if it was one of the front men rather than Kabul.

We were shite? Really? We had 5, 6, 7 very good attempts at goal. If Krul isn't on top form we get at LEAST 1 or 2. Eriksen lifts his chance off the deck and there's nowhere near as much complaining. 1 strike of the ball doesn't improve a team performance but people on here would react differently. Why bother watching the match if you only judge the score?

Your not serious with that line?.......honest. Really?

So your suggesting that the FA start dishing out points for artistic impression and ball retention? Look at the facts, nine fucking goals scored and this guy want's us to support the manager based on anything but the score!

"If Krull isn't on top form we get at LEAST 1 or 2"

When was the last time we scored two goals in the PL? Your so very wrong, but i won't judge you on any scores o.k.

You're putting words into his mouth. Otherwise known as constructing a straw man argument. crokey neither said nor suggested anything of the sort.

He was simply making the point that the scoreline, alone, tells an incomplete story.

I'm interested to know........when the team was winning games ugly, 1-0, was the scoreline the only thing that mattered to you then? Or were you expressing concerns and frustration about the performances and lack of goals?

Interesting that you should say that, seeing as Crokey took such offense at me saying (before the game) that a scrappy 1-0 win against Hull could be considered to be a bad thing due to the implications it would have for our future prospects (the implication being that the result is not the be all and end all, but that the performance can suggest how well we're doing too).

For Crokey the result was clearly all that mattered. He dismissed me as a 'modern football fan' (incorrectly) for apparently thinking that any sort of 1-0 win wasn't a good thing (he also assumed I wanted us to win every game 5-0 in order for me to consider it to be a success).

I agree with you completely BTW. The scoreline alone tells an incomplete story. I just wanted you to know that you're defending someone who obviously believes the exact opposite of that.

Ah, right.

I only saw his one post, quoted above by Gaz Gammon. Whatever he said to you must have been 2000 posts ago!

If what you say is true, then he's displaying double standards in exactly the same way that some on the other side of the argument are displaying double standards.
