How the fuck are they allowed to host football matches on that pitch? No excuse for a League One side.

Always think for league teams they should have to play the match at the opposition's ground if the pitch hasn't been cared for properly.
There will be calls for it to be played elsewhere , cannot see there being time to get it properly relaid before then at this time of the year

Yeah that’s what I meant. Strange, unnecessary and came across as a total prick.
I thought that as well but wondered if Saunders was being sarcastic and knew it was an expensive suit because if Not, what a ****ish thing to say on live tv

I think you’re giving him a benefit of the doubt he doesn’t deserve. Just sounded to me like he thought it was funny in his head and by the time it came out of his mouth it was too late to put it back in.

Nice to see the fringe players get some game time and others getting fitness back, mixed with a comfortable win, lovely stuff

Yikes. Not ideal. Where will the game be played then? That pitch is not fit for anything to be played on.
Just saw another picture. For fucks sake. The icy swamp filled with geese crap that always flooded the lawn at my old school 15 years ago would make a better playing surface. The state of that thing is a shambles.

Good for Llorente to get a full 90min.
Really frustrated he didn't score; he must be gutted. Amazing the role confidence plays for strikers. To be fair to him, his minutes have been so limited, I feel for him - but with the quality he possesses he really should have buried them.

What I noticed was however that he really was in a number of great positions but we just refused to cross. There were times when there were two defenders in the box alongside him, Rose or Aurier were on the ball and either didn't get the ball in or chose to delay and pass it around the box.

I really think Llorente would be so much more effective if we played a little more direct to him, but it seems we don't adjust our style of play much (at all?) when he's rarely up top.

Good mins for Foyth, Toby, Danny and Serge too. No injuries was a bonus.

Well played Newport, rode their luck and were completely outplayed but restricted us to 2 only when it could/should have been a lot more.

Rochdale will be tricky - lots of talk on Talksport about how bad the pitch is. Hope we can avoid injuries.
