BBC Live Text
21:26 GOAL - Tottenham 1-2 West Ham - Modibo Maiga
Big header, big goal! Twelve months and 17 days since his last goal, Modibo Maiga rises like a salmon to meet Mohamed Diame's cross and thump a low header into the net. What a comeback.
21:21 GOAL - Tottenham 1-1 West Ham - Matt Jarvis

It has been coming! Route one stuff as Adrian lumps it long, it's flicked on to Matt Taylor and he tees up Matt Jarvis for a wonderful finish, slammed high into the roof of the net! Maybe we are having extra-time after all...
21:19 Tottenham 1-0 West Ham Substitution
Emmanuel Adebayor comes off to a decent reception as Lewis Holtby replaces him for the climax. West Ham send on Ravel Morrison, who scored a belter at the Lane in October.
21:15 Tottenham 1-0 West Ham Substitution
Problems for Spurs, and England, as Andros Townsend pings a hamstring and immediately goes down. He knows he's done and Nacer Chadli comes on in his place.
21:08 GOAL - Tottenham 1-0 West Ham - Emmanuel Adebayor (67 mins)
What a goal! Pick that one out! Andros Townsend frees Jermain Defoe down the left, his cross is perfect and Emmanuel Adebayor arrives on it like a train, smashing in a volley off the underside of the crossbar!
Booooommm! Some fine pointing going on from Ade as well. He's proven a point there.
21:03 SUBSTITUTION - Tottenham 0-0 West Ham
Change for Spurs as Danny Rose is replaced by former Manchester United man Zeki Fryers. Will that break the deadlock?
HALF-TIME - Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

Tottenham Hotspur interim manager Tim Sherwood faces his first match in charge on Wednesday, taking on West Ham in their Capital One Cup quarter-final at White Hart Lane.

After Andre Villas-Boas' sacking on Monday, Sherwood has revealed he wants his side to show an immediate response as they hope to bounce back from Sunday's 5-0 home Premier League defeat to Liverpool.

It will be the second time the two sides have met at White Hart Lane this season, with Sam Allardyce's Hammers winning 3-0 in a Premier League clash back in October.

Spurs are in the last eight thanks to an impressive 4-0 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park in the third round, and a dramatic penalty shootout win at White Hart Lane over Hull City in the fourth round.

Meanwhile, West Ham have won just once in their last seven games in all competitions and are hovering above the Premier League relegation zone by one point.

With only one goal in their last three league games, Allardyce will be hoping to provide an entertaining performance for the fans travelling from the East End.

Wins against Cardiff and Burnley have given the Irons the chance to feature in the semi-final of the cup, a feat they last achieved in 2011 where they were knocked out by Birmingham City.

Tottenham

Spurs skipper Michael Dawson is set to miss Wednesday's game through suspension, following his fifth yellow card of the season against Liverpool.

Paulinho is also suspended for the match, with fellow Brazilian Sandro also expecting to sit out the quarter-final after picking up an injury against the Reds.

Vlad Chiriches could return for the game, along with Christian Eriksen and Danny Rose.

West Ham
James Tomkins will face a late fitness test before the game, after the recurrence of a niggling groin injury.

Ricardo Vaz Te, Stewart Downing, Winston Reid and Mladen Petric will all miss the match in North London through injury.

Long-term absentee Andy Carroll is also out with a foot injury, with Allardyce admitting the striker is a long way away from first-team action.

Tottenham's interim head coach Tim Sherwood is without the suspended duo of Paulinho and captain Michael Dawson.

Sandro has a calf injury and will not feature, but Vlad Chiriches, Christian Eriksen, Younes Kaboul and Danny Rose could return.

West Ham skipper Kevin Nolan serves the second game of a three-match ban.

Also missing are Andy Carroll, Stewart Downing, Mladen Petric, Winston Reid and Ricardo Vaz Te, plus James Tomkins is a doubt with a groin problem.

Christmas cheer has been thin on the ground for Tottenham fans this week as the 5-0 mauling at the hands of Liverpool on Sunday resulted in Andre Villas-Boas leaving his post at White Hart Lane.

That result proved to be the final straw for chairman Daniel Levy as he ruthlessly pulled the plug on the man who had failed to get the best out of the £107m worth of new talent that arrived over the summer - or cope with the departure of Gareth Bale.

One thing that would help put the smile back on the faces of the Spurs faithful, though, would be revenge on rivals West Ham, who enjoyed a famous 3-0 victory at White Hart Lane two months ago.

It has arguably been Sam Allardyce's finest win in the Premier League during his tenure as Hammers boss, but it is one of the few bright sparks of an otherwise dreadful season that will could see him go the same way as Villas-Boas unless the club have a swift upturn in fortunes.

Allardyce says he is too busy worrying about the current situation of his side, who lie just one point above the relegation places, than what has been going on at Spurs.

"I have enough of my own problems with injuries and suspensions with games coming up rapidly to have too much concern about Tottenham other than what team I am going to play, how we are going to play and what we can do to combat them and get through to the semi-finals," he said.

"My particular situation will ease and will get better as long as we get our injured players fit, and our communication between the board of directors and myself with everyone at the club is clear and precise."

Head-to-head

Not in the UK

Looks like Sky have the rights and they are showing the Stoke Vs ManU match tomorrow. Nothing on the OS saying its on either

Wow. It's a damning indictment of the competition when the semi final isn't deemed worthy of live television coverage.

Both Semi Finals were shown last year, but only 2 from the rounds before were shown

We are in the Quarter Finals at the moment, not the semi finals

I'll be going.

I'm hoping to see us go all out for this. We should, should, be battering this lot. I think they might find it a bad time to play us

Michael Dawson and Paulinho will miss tomorrow's Capital One Cup quarter final versus West Ham through suspension. #THFC

Lacking centre halves. There was talk of Vlad being close for the Liverpool game so maybe he'll be back.
Capoue should find it a breeze compared to Sunday, hopefully he's told to stop trying to play offside when their midfield run from deep.
Paulinho out for Wed, Soton and West Brom with a straight red.

Vlad and Rose both trained today, as did Kaboul, but dont think he trained with the first team. Was a photo with him kicking a ball at Kane

Do we risk Vlad the Impaler for this game? As much as I want to stuff West Ham, maybe we should just go with Capoue and Zeki and not risk any more injuries. Also, maybe we should look to bring in an MLS player on loan just to have a healthy body for a couple of months. I wouldn't want to play a guy like Omar Gonzalez or Clarence Goodson, but they'd do in a dire emergency such as the one we're having tomorrow and they may jump at the chance to train with the team and stay fit during the MLS offseason.

Hmmm if only we had a highly regarded and gifted young English CB that has recently made a debut and scored for his country...

If Sherwood has any sense he will want to, excuse the pun, Hammer this lot. And I mean seriously attack.
