Want away. And what's not to like about the man? However, Martinez is at a club with a strong fan base where it would seem that he is accorded a fair degree of autonomy. Any manager in a stable club would have to seriously think that the sacrifice of moving to a club bedevilled by some sort of impetuousity disorder was actually worthwhile. Unless he simply moved for what might be a bigger paycheck (and my estimation of him would then plummet through the basement of hell), I honestly don't think from his p.o.v. that the game's worth a candle. He'd be gone in a year. Levy and co. might start by honestly asking themselves why a manager like Martinez (or, if it is to be believed, Rodgers) might not want to come Spurs; and then make a serious attempt to address the club's systemic problems. We lose so many managers in such a farcical welter that some days I wonder if we have hired some that we never even knew were here.

So NOW Spurs go after Martinez, two years too late: there's a saying:"If you snooze you lose"........

Same could have been said for Moyes. luckily we snoozed through that one too.

Unless he is a masochistic adrenaline junkie Martinez would have to be out of his mind to swap EFC for us. They have stability and we have kneejerk, farce and volatility.

"In another twist, Starsport understands Sherwood has sparked a guessing game by telling pals he is already fixed up with a new job for next season, at an unnamed club."

Telling pals?? PALS?? Wondrous journalism! ...eh, hope it's true though:pompous:

I would welcome him, be interesting to see the draw we have. If we get him, then you can pretty much ignore any of this poisoned chalice talk - as we are still a draw. I think Everton are in for a tough season next year - really needed CL to make anything happen. He'd be hard pushed to get players on loan from any decent PL team, as they will be wise to the fact that he can get them playing good football and effectively damage the loaning clubs ambitions. Think he is a gent and a really decent manager. Almost makes me want him not to join us.

There is no way he is leaving Everton. The man promised not to break his contract with Wigan and stood by that when other clubs, eg Aston villa came calling.
He is a man of principle and honour.

Someone should release an article with the headline " Tottenham do not know who they want "
or can we put in advert in a national paper - 'Spurs fans, seek leadership, principles and consistency. Strong stomach a necessity."

It seems so. Though everyone arguably has their price. Money, money money. The things we might do that we never thought we might. Have you seen A Simple Plan?

And what is even more hilarious is that 'fans' will get angry when we "don't get" Martinez because the Star (didn't even know they still existed) say that we are "considering" approaching him.

Anyone keeping a tally of how many managers
are linked in the press with Spurs?
I've run out of fingers and toes
and the wife's.
Starting on the dog and the cat next.
Please appoint early, Daniel.

You take their loan signings and Lukaku's goals out of his team this season and then look just where they would finish.

If they fail to sign Lukaku (and they don't have that kind of money) i think they will return to mid-table next season. All that glitters is not gold.
