Makes a lot of sense, sadly.
Pochettino uses the same sized inner core regardless of squad size, coupled with a less important "outer shell" of very few players. In total less than 20 players see a decent amount of playing time each season.
We have Son, Gee, Lamela, Townsend, Chadli, Eriksen, Dembele, Carroll, Onomah who can play apporx. in his position.
Somethings gotta give.
Well I'd give Townsend first, possibly Lamela and Gee could be injured for some time.
Onomah is equally unproven.
Madness I tell you.
Don't believe it anyway.

Yep they cry out for new signings when we have youngsters capable of doing a job, then cry that we never produce players.
The next gen showed that our youth of the time were some of the best in europe. We should have won it if we weren't disqualified on a technicality. We beat barcelona and smashed 6 shades of shit out of inter pritchard getting a hattrick. Give these boys a chance. Teams in other countries give their youngsters a chance don't see why we can't.

Ye his talent has always been obvious, to me anyway, I've been wanting him to get Cup appearances/minutes since he was 19, and wish he had been in the squad instead of signing Sig and Dempsey, who were 'average' signings that blocked him, I thought. It's been far too long and I'm finally looking forward to seeing him play first team now. At least the article has changed it's headline would have been fuming if he went out on loan

It is possible looking at poch's lack of rotation last season. No way alex came back to sit on the bench and he seems like the a person who would rather be playing football than sit around waiting for little 10 mins appearances here and there and im pretty sure he didn’t come back to play in no cup games.

Perhaps he's just not ready for the Premiership?

No fucking way. He is ready goddamit and if he has to spend a season sitting on the bench I would rather that than him get first team experience.

Fuck poch. He should be the first name on the teamsheet alongside alli, Trippier, Carroll, son, onomah and Njie.

This would be crazy. Pritchard was superb for Brentford last season and more than ready for a go in our first team.

Bullshit article full of what if's and maybe's.

"<inserts players name here> will be allowed to leave if he doesn't perform".

No. Shit. Sherlock.

You could have put the same in there for a lot of our squad. Poch needs to give the kid a chance like he said he would, we'll need him when the games start piling up. Plus the England games prove one thing, give Kane service, he scores goals. Service = WINGERS!

We all hope the boy can do very well but bloody hell, the nonsense on here about someone that was at BRENTFORD last season playing in the championship, is quite amazing

Playing in the prem for Tottenham Hotspur when (because we are pretty ordinary) many supporters are pinning their hopes and dreams on him, is massive massive pressure

Good luck to him. He's going to need it

That's Brentford who finished 5th, you know. And he was voted their player of the season.

It's funny, you put him down by slagging off those who believe he has potential (and many people on here have watched him play many times - how many times have you watched him, incidentally?) but then also think we are ordinary. Surely if that's the case then he stands more chance to make an impact?

Sorry, your logic is just all out of kilter on this one.

All I was saying is it's going to be very difficult for him and people are building him up far too much. As for watching him, I've seen him quite a few times on a 40' TV. Never watched him properly. I wonder how many actually have seen him 'properly'!!

I don't think anyone is expecting him to come into the team and be like Messi straight away, but given the previous two seasons Pritchard has had (being the best player at both his loan teams) and the way Kane emerged last season a lot of people are quite rightly excited by our youth prospects. Perhaps some need to temper their expectation a little, but mostly I just see people who want him to get a chance in our first team.

I guess I'm not looking at it from a cyber space point of view. Having gone home and away for the last 40 odd years I know how our supporters can be a very very tough audience. They can literally make or break you and if the boy doesn't do anything special early doors when he's going to be asked to come in and create because of his reputation, then it doesn't take long for the very vocal minority morons to get on his back

As we know confidence is everything. Anyway fingers crossed for him...

Now we have son for the right wing maybe Lamela will become eriksens understudy for the central role?
It could happen

He may find himself more suited in the EPL to playing centrally and looking to pick passes for the pacy players ahead of him and the intelligent movement of Kane

He may find that not having to use his pace and strength beneifts him (because he lacks both) and does have an eye for a goal from outside the box as well as the ability to play a clever through ball to set up a chance

Realistically though I think it's more likely that he finds himself surplus to requirements unless there are a few injuries. I think in the next year or so he'll find himself behind the likes of Pritchard, Onomah and even Oduwa when he returns for the AM positions while already being being behind Njie, Son and Erkisen (even Chadli for the left position if he were to be considered there)

I'd love him to come good because I had high expectations and it would save us having to sell him for a huge loss and cut our losses like we did Soldado. I in the summer window we will end up selling him for less than we could have this summer
