Apparently there were multiple fractures to his collarbone and one part of it was sticking out through his skin, yet the race organisers still insisted he change into the presentation jersey for the podium.

Just watched a replay of the end of the stage. Such a shame about Martin. Two contenders now out of the race after Cancellara had to abandon earlier this week. Froome takes the yellow tomorrow followed by Van Garderen now, correct?

Froome now tops GC but he won't wear yellow today. Not sure if that's a rule because Martin finished the stage or just out of respect for him, pretty sure it's the latter.

For those asking, I won’t be wearing yellow today! All the best to @tonymartin85 with his op & recovery #MaillotJaune #TDF2015

Martin and Cacellara weren't overall GC contenders, just two of the most high profile riders in the race who happened to wear the yellow jersey because the opening week suited them.

Bloody americans blocked the way for Froome, at least keep some distance from yourself and the rider not too close so that he can whack you

Froome was awesome today. Thought Quintana would take the stage but he just couldn't live with Froome's pace.

Astonishing from Froome, and 3 skys in the top 6. Incredible. Special mention for Adam Yates in 7th, very impressive.

Another phenomenal ride from Thomas today, chased every attack down and still came in with the yellow jersey group. I'd love to see how he'd do as team leader in a grand tour. It would have to be the Vuelta most likely given the Giro's proximity to the classics and Froome's status as Tour leader.

Incredibly rich for Jalabert to be accusing anyone of doping. His subsequent denial and lying just proves how worthless anything he has to say on the matter is. If it was Thibaut Pinot emphatically winning stages he wouldn't be saying anything of the sort.

Awful looking crash for Thomas today, head first into a telegraph pole on the descent. Utterly irresponsible riding by Barguil that caused it. Could have been a lot, lot worse.

Is anyone else paying attention to the furore over power data? It seems like a complete waste of time to me. You can't prove anything with it either way, so all it does is help people with shit stirring.

At the very least it proves that French TV's estimate of Froome's power output being over 7 w/kg was wildly inaccurate, and that his performance on stage 10 wasn't untoward for his ability.

It won't stop the French media throwing wild insinuations around, though. Perhaps we should just let a Frenchman win the Tour next year...
