Me. I'm not even joking. As I said, I'm willing to do a list spanning multiple countries. Obviously, I don't know everything but I've been whoring for a long time so I think I have a good idea.

I'm not on twitter, but is a way of seeing who is reliable and who isn't is by the number of followers they have? or can someone with a lot of followers still easily be a wum?

A take the piss thread where we can comment on the main ITK thread with off-topic digressions, jokes, jibes, anecdotes and other funny stuff, without getting banned.

Kind of like what Have I Got News For You is for the News At Ten.

Also - if I was a mod, I would ban everyone who complains about other posts. Biggest pet peeve of mine - spamming a thread complaining about spam.

I seem to have got banned for a few days & I'm not quite sure why?

Other than that I thought the thread was fine & quite interesting.

Appreciate it's what drives interest but an ITK cull wouldn't go amiss. There is some utter nonsense out there and people literally so far down the food chain it's irrelevant, or relying on past glories, or even as I saw yesterday quoting an Igijedi post to say something is done? I mean give me strength.

Sure, it doesn't matter, sure it's a bit of fun but the fawning over people who are no better than the average twitter delusional is pretty cringy.

Nah. Indykaila has over 200k followers, some Italian journalists have loads of followers despite the majority of them being complete shithouses.

What point are you making?

That followers mean nothing. when it comes to the veracity of information. If we said something like "only tweets from people with 100K followers" we'd still get shit posted.

I assume you have some names in mind.

Are any of them on here? I'm fairly confident that all of the ITKs who actually post on SC are still actively ITK.

If they're not on here then there's not much we can do to verify them and just because their info doesn't come off doesn't mean they're not ITK.

With a lot of the ITKs saying not for RO, it was / is quite difficult to go to a one stop shop of all the relelvant information.

The discussion thread just gets overwhelmed by chit chat, and it's difficult to wade through it (especially when you can;t spend your life on the forum). Furthermore the guessing and wishlisting doesn't help, but this is also not helped by cypritics or vague bits of ITK which lends itself to guessing. I'm inclined to suggest a 'guessing', thread, but I suppose these are sometimes useful because they keep people busy and ultimately, sometimes, the ITKs and mods want a load of guessing (plus when an ITK 'winners' a correct guess it gives further credit and information).

However I think trialing a guessing chit chat thread may be an optio (it may help out regarding moderation too, as I suspect this is a bloody nightmare).

I also like the player threads, although even these sometimes get way too busy, it's difficult to keep up.

I like that but the lines would get blurred too quickly

But Hotspur Related doesn't post any info?

Regarding twitter, I see a few possible solutions:

1. You can't ignore twitter in today's world
2. You (mods) can vet people on twitter, just like you would vet ITKs - create a list of people you find trustworthy (i.e. not that they are always accurate, but they are not WUMs) - allow those tweets, and allow people to introduce new twitter accounts to be vetted
3. Create a free-for-all thread - where it is caveat emptor - people put what they want, and they the readers are responsible for weeding out the wums.

I think as you consider the various options, that we remember why forums exist - 1) Entertainment, 2) Information, and 3)debate/discussion

Those lines all get blurred from time to time, and there certainly is a place and time for each element. I think the ITK thread is a perfect place to limit to "Information" - allows people to quickly get the headlines - and I suppose that is the purpose behind the read-only forum - but maybe you consider that a single read-only ITK thread (rather than multiple threads for each ITK item) satisfies those people who want just the cleanest look at info (its easier to open just one thread and get just Dov's whored info, or JJ's tweets, or Hercules updates, or Trix's info, etc). Then have a separate discussion thread, where people can talk about the ITK, and formations, and wishes, and Levy, and Poch, and wanting players out or in...

Personally, I like to be entertained - I don't mind posts that are funny or entertaining even in the middle of the ITK discussion. But, I also get that some people have no sense of humor (and/or just want to spend a few minutes catching up on the latest updates and don't have time to weed through the morass of an ITK thread clogged with puns). Separate threads for info and discussion seems to satisfy both groups.

That doesn't work though does it as it'll send all our traffic to twitter? We want all the twitter traffic to come here.
It's pretty much the opposite of a good idea :p
A preview tweet for everything that goes in to the RO, using bit.ly links and optimised with hashtags is a good idea.

An example could be

SC ITK UPDATE 1:
THE GOAT re: Your Mum
bit.ly/sdg1516 #COYS #SPURS #ITK

It's short, sweet and to the point but more importantly, it draws traffic to the sight and you could perhaps increase ad space to RO pages.

It also knocks the wind out of the sails of the people who pretended to Grey Fox and Herc.

To be fair to Ross (HotspurRelated) he's not ITK and has never claimed to be. He's just a news outlet spinning THFC info.

He's not someone I'd put in the RO for example but would put his tweets in player threads etc.

Not to quote my own post but it would work for Facebook too and it can be done simultaneously using a platform like Buffer

First of all: a big thank you to all at SC for a cracking job! (y) And for the patience of angels with all of us nutters...

The Live ITK Ticker Thread was really helpful for those of us not able to sit in front of the computer or telly all day long.

The big "problem" of course is when you´ve been away for a few hours (some of us have to work, pick up kids, etc), and the Daily ITK Thread has grown with 50 pages... The Daily ITK thread had a wonderful, brilliant post in the very beginning; giving us all a status report on different possibilites. Could it be an idea to have a Live Status Thread (RO) - in a similar mould as the the Live ITK Ticker Thread? The most important issues - that could be updated every hour or two?
