I know we probably missed the boat, but...

If you do that in the Premier League players get annoyed and fly in with leg breaking tackles for the next 20 mins. Sad but true, I remember Nani doing some skill against Arsenal and two leg breaking tackles fly in after.

Do you think we are likely to have a DOF in the near future, as there has been little talk in recent weeks of us moving down this road.

AVB kept talking up the idea in his press conferences, and Baldini and Henrique were heavily linked.

We're also a bit short of senior recruitment personnel after Broomfield and Senior were released.

I think this whole Dembele thing just exacerbates the shortcomings of Levy to an extent. I will not say 'fuck you Daniel Levy' but it's kind of hard to feel like he hasn't dicked us (and AVB) over this season because he couldn't even just add some quality depth. Our striker situation, our winger situation, our midfield situation, our LB situation. I'm not talking about not getting a guy like Moutinho, I'm thinking more along the lines of guys like Aubameyang, Clasie, Isco that were all estimated to be worth reasonable fees (8m-14m range) and all would have been enormous for us.

This is the extent of my venting, but it's really becoming a huge issue that is holding this club back. He needs to be more aggressive early, yet he doesn't seem to want to at all. Ugh, we need depth, not even world-class players, we just need some depth that can help the squad not drop off a cliff when one guy goes down with injury.

agree with most of this but we need definately 1 if not 2 players to come straight into the first XI imo, a no. 10 or playmaker depending whether we stick with 4231 or go 433 plus someone to improve or at least challenge Lennon but could cover Bale so we have a choice of 3 wingers not 2 nailed on.

The 3 players you mentioned though would be enough, would add competition for places for all the midfield and attack, Isco going straight in the first team, other 2 providing competition

Appreciate what your saying but unless your somehow connected to the Football world you have no idea how feasible those transfers were. There's a million reason why it might not have been possible. One thing we surely can avoid in future is waiting so long. We should be working now to get Jan deals lined up nice and early.

Seen we have been linked to Ince. Is it just me or would anyone else be underwhelmed if we spunked 10m on him?

I would but not because of his ability. I've no idea how good he is.

Too often the price tag dictates how players are perceived. We bought Lennon for £1m and whether he broke into the team in 6 months or 3 years most fans would get behind him. A £10m signing is seen differently. You pay wonderkid money you expect a wonderkid.

I think too often players get perceived as a flop because of their price tag rather than their performance on the pitch. Darren Bent would have been given a lot more praise for his goalscoring if we'd bought him for £2m from Ipswich.
