Looks like southeastern is on almost complete shut down.

Anyone else from Kent scratching their heads for a way to get there?

I'm thinking of driving to Greenwich and getting the Jubilee line up from there.
I did see a large retail estate, Sainsbury's and cinema at Finchley when on the tube earlier today. Is that easy to part in and get the tube from there?

Going to a building site isn't something I'd usually do on Boxing Day but each to their own.

Coming up from east Sussex but I have booked a car park. I often though park on the road free by West Harrow tube and then take the Metropolitan line the few stops in

The parking at Finchley Road will cost you a few bob, better bet is to park on a side street in West Hampstead, residents parking is suspended as it’s a bank holiday so it’s free. And then Jubilee line it five stops to Wembley Park.

Is there any danger there that I drive all that way and find there's nowhere to park?
Yep, because so many train services aren't running. I'd imagine everyone is going to have the same idea.

Chiltern Railways aren't running a service to Wembley on Boxing Day. Fuck knows how I'm going to get there...

no over ground lines ever run on xmas day or boxing day. train drivers are not allowed any alcohol in their system 24hours before a shift.

Never knew this. Then again I've only started using trains this season, used to drive to the Lane.

Not to worry. I've booked a space on someone's drive and I'm just going to have to drive on Boxing day. Fuck knows what it'll be like with traffic, going to have to risk it as it's the only way I'll get there.

I only found out about the alcohol since I transfer train drivers occasionally, but rank up at Hertford north when I'm in Hertford so got to know that trains don't run over those 2 days

They could just pay drivers OT and those drivers be grown up and not drink.
It's not like they have to drink.

even on a Sunday service every network has about 5 staff that have to be on standby every shift, they also need enough staff on hand to man the stations, problems that can happen. what your saying means a hell of a lot of people not being able to celebrate Xmas

But the rail companies claim closures are for essential maintenance...

You've seen how much these drivers get paid right?!? Part and parcel of the job. Rotate the schedule year on year -sorted. I have to work NY Day, even though I'm on holiday from this morning until 2nd Jan.
