Cue the ‘bet they were frustrated with you giving the goal away’ comments.....

He does need to up his concentration levels massively imo

I can forgive the odd error but my excitement ahead of a game is always slightly dampened when I see both Trippier and particularly Davies starting. Upgrading them has to be a priority this summer with guys whohave more energy to provide a constant outlet in attack. It limits the options of our creative players.

And who ever is finding them upgrades need to see more more than the one good youtube moment they found with Aurier....
Crystal Palace has a very good youngster I covet though KWP could be good when he bulks up.
To be fair to Davies, he just isnt ageing well as a left back though he was promising when he came. Maybe his remaining better days could be left sided central defence.

He's one of our most creative players.

I love him because he reminds me of a simpler time when the art of crossing was still alive, but it's hard to compute how many chances we don't create owing to his lack of athleticism. He does create chances but I still think we can improve significantly which can't be said of other areas of the team.

I never understood the Davies signing. Didn't seem to fit our style. In his 3rd season he surprised me by improving massively but he seems to have gone backwards this year. Must admit I thought Aurier would be better than Walker. I don't think that now!

Agreed, nutmegs around our penalty area are pretty creative.

Seriously though, his stats going forward are good but I do feel he's regressed defensively.

He's just too casual and timid at times. When his confidence is up, he tries a nutmeg on the edge of his own box. When it's down (or at normal level) he plays the safe cross-field pass too often.

Its obvious to anyone who watches him for a while that he has the Harry Kane drilling and practice routine down for crossing and delivery - he prides himself on it and works to be a good as he can be at it. He also needs to apply that to his defensive situations with and without the ball.

I know Aurier can have the occasional brain fade but I’d think that he is the superior option to Trippier at present.

Just for the record, I think Davies is actually a bloody good defender and helps bring some balance to the team. As a fan, I prefer to watch Rose play because he offers more going forwards but winning matches is cool too ;)
