Troy Parrott’s future at Tottenham will be resolved in the next few days, with the door to a first-team return under manager Ange Postecouglou seemingly slammed tightly shut for the Ireland striker.

Now the Dubliner is eyeing up a move away from Spurs, with TEAMtalk sources confirming a switch to the Dutch top flight is “most likely” for the 21-year-old forward.

Shame he didn't live up to our hopes for him, but after impressing in youth games, he has struggled to step up to senior football. He scored something like 1 in 10 in the Championship last season, so it would be very optimistic to expect him to be playing in the PL any time soon. A permanent move to a club where he can realistically compete for a starting spot seems the best thing for him. Hopefully his career then takes an upwards trajectory...even though that won't be of benefit to us.

Shock seems a bit of a stretch. He's 21, needs game time to progress his game and the Eredivisie is a great league for development.

A good move for everyone if it happens. Although the article doesn't even mention any interested clubs...

The signing of Veliz who has gone straight into the first team squad and is younger than Troy is bit of a marker so a move the best option for Troy who I would think is behind Scarlett in the pecking order as Ange has spoken well of Dane.

It's a shame that he had so much hype as a kid, he was never likely to live up to all the noise surrounding him and, on the face of it, a youth team player getting regular Championship football and a possible move to the Eredivisie is an achievement to be celebrated for both the player and the club. The moment Scarlett emerged as a prospect, to some extent Parrott was yesterday's news - my worry is that with Donley now coming through (and Irow a year or so behind him) and Scarlett coming back off a not-especially-successful loan, the cycle might continue. Hype them up, don't see immediate results, dump them, get excited about the next big thing.

Some of the media build up gives fans far too much hope on some of our youngsters , Ali Gold and co reporters at Football.London are guilty of continually referring to "wonderkids" of which Parrott was one in the Spurs academy, how many have made it to the first team squad recently ?

The Parrott hype begun before his Spurs career,
word in Ireland was that there was a special player coming up.
