Pretty rubbish from England.

Sinclair surely has to start the next game though, probably in place of Rose but it would be good to see Danny get a go at left back.

I would also drop Mancienne and Henderson and bring in Cleverly and Lansbury. Have Rodwell as the sitting player in midfield, also bring in Albrighton and Wickham because Sturridge and Welbeck havent impressed me.

My team would be:

-----------Fielding-----------
Walker--Smalling--Jones--Rose
-----------Rodwell-----------
-----Lansbury----Cleverly----
Albrighton--------------Sinclair
-----------Wickham---------

I just wish these players would play a different brand of football. Whether it's Pearce influence I don't know, hoof and run is not a good brand of football. English players seem to try and take on their man the whole time or play a killer pass. It should be more about one-three touch football with better movement. The only reason Wilshere plays like that is because he has been brought up playing that style

If that's the best English coaching can do at International level, they should all be sacked.

The Referee was a total shambles and should, really, have awarded..at least 1 penalty (and red card to follow) against the English defense? He continued to penalise Ukraine, for nothing, in general...but then procced to 'blow up' (and even yellow card) several players who did absolutely nothing wrong? It was the usual 'ref who want to impress the FC' kind of performance? England were their woeful worst, as is their norm, but...it is nothing new...to those of us who are forced to watch this , day in day out?
I very much doubt that they will 'do any damage' in this Competition....and Spain will/should win....easily, in the final analysis? I did , nonthless, have a good old belly laugh when some of those 'no nothing' commentators, on Sky were attempting to equate the 'superior' Spaniards with the much inferior England U-21 side? NO COMPARISON, at all. Boys and men (women?) and...from a THFC point of view...we should make sure that our players are 'injured' when future squads are selected? Party ON mes amis haha! COYS!

To be fair to the England squad it would be a completely different side with Wilshere and Carroll in. That would give England creativity in the middle and a striker that would be difficult for U21 defences to deal with. Then they probably could have put Hart in goal as one of the over-age players and the side would have had a completely different complaxion.

Also I am fairly sure that Caulker will prove that he is better than both Jones and Smalling this season coming (but was unfortunately injured).

Adam Johnson is only 23 as well so he could have played (in fact he is about 3 weeks younger than Javi Martinez).

I know the idea is to blood young players but as others have said, if they are looking to develop a group of players that plays together as a group and plays good football then they need to all be playing.

Hart

Walker---Smalling---Jones---Rose

Rodwell

Wilshere---Cleverly

Albrighton----------------Johnson

Carroll

Would have had a decent shot at this tournament even against the more talented Spanish team. They would have caused the lesser teams a lot of troubles.

It's not just about winning though imo, it's about developing a style of play and I see England playing kick and rush football desperate to get rid of the ball at almost every occasion. Of course it's good to win but for me it's more important for the players to try and play football on the ground as much as possible.

When I hear Pearce talking all he goes on about is the spirit and determination of the players, we need to forget all that and concentrate more on players technique. Yesterday was just terrible viewing, I know that the likes of Carroll and Wilshire are not there but it's not like the squad is poor. Look at the starting midfield yesterday, Henderson a £20m Liverpool player, Rodwell a target for Man U previously and probably will go eventually for £15-£20m. And Mancienne who came through Chelsea's ranks. All I saw yesterday was plenty long balls from the keeper/defence, long throw-ins, long free-kicks, just desperate stuff really.

When it comes to international football I just cannot take England seriously.

well that's that madness in group A

2nd, 3rd and 4th all on 3 points with 3 goals for and 5 against

Belarus through on head to head, Spain are going to batter them lol

can't see England beating the Czechs but if they some how do the Swiss will destroy them

Spain v Switzerland should be a great final

England team: Fielding, Walker, Smalling, Jones, Bertrand, Cleverley, Muamba, Henderson, Sinclair, Sturridge, Welbeck.

I would have played Rose ahead of Bertrand and Albrighton instead of Cleverley or Sinclair.

I hate Pearce, he's not a tactician at all, a really basic football manager. Young players need technical and tactical guidance more than any and they're just not getting it from Pearce.

England are shit everyone of the players is so technically poor and too happy to play hoof ball and play the percentages whether it's a tactic or not their dreadful!

Don't deserve to go through at all but I bet they will luckily deflected goal or something

The Swiss will destroy them like the Spanish would have if they wernt so cocky!

Technically England ain't scored a goal yet this tournament as the first one was offside

Been distinctly unimpressed with all three games I have seen them play now. No-one has stood out for me at all as being an exceptional prospect. (The keeper does look very solid though when called upon to be fair)

Was reading the BBC live text as well, they mentioned that Mata for Spain has been with the senior squad but volunteered to play in this tournament.... shame some of our guys didnt have enough pride in the national shirt to do this.

another painfully shite performance so far, we just don't have anybody in the center of the park to control the game it's all huff and puff kick and run

hope the Czechs win and Pearce gets fucking canned

I'm pretty sure Wilshere and Carroll wanted to play but Arsenal and Liverpool didn't let them.

Oddly enough, I read somewhere that Busquets was in the preliminary sqaud for Spain, but they called him up to the senior squad for a few friendlies instead of letting him go with the U21s.

Peter Taylor's team was much better than this lot.
