I was looking forward to this, love all the majors. But this Chambers Bay course looks absolutely awful. I'm all for challenging the best but the course designer has gone over the top IMO. There are some holes where the grass is the same length on the fairway, green and rough and has dots painted to define where the green starts. I usually have a bet on the majors but anyone can win this. Anyone think the same?

Be interesting to watch the first round just to see how much of a paddy some of the players have. Nobody kicks off like the golfers.

I had a look at the card the other day and I'd struggle walking round the course never mind playing the bloody thing...

I might have a look at Snedeker. Not long off the tee but a brilliant putter and very innovative around the greens which will be crucial. But you could miss your target by a foot or so and get into trouble. A cool, experienced head of this joke of a major course.
Snedeker and Furyk e/w.

This is a mile away from a traditional us open course. Looks like a poor attempt at a links.

That wanker Patrick Reed just gone to -4 and is now leader.

Why is mcilroy dressed like a caddy?

This looks like it's being played at a community course where the green keepers don't give a shit.

Tiger finishes his tournament with +16. Ouch.

I didn't like him when he was winning. I still don't particularly like his persona now... But I'd actually like to see him get his game back to a standard where he was at least in contention. The comeback against the odds.

I'm not sure how much he wants it though. The only way realistically is to knuckle down and play more golf.

The course is so ugly. The greens are patchy. I'm not enjoying watching this US Open so far, purely because the course isn't as easy on the eye as many would be in the PGA Tour. It's supposed to be a linksy type course, but you don't even see the course in this bad condition in the British Open, until, if at all, the last day and a half or so.

You can see the players aren't overly impressed either. Most good players and putters will be able to score well on most courses, even if the greens aren't great, but they can't stop the ball from bobbling off line due to patchy grass.

Hope Spieth doesn't win again. Something annoys me about him, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

What a gritty performance from Jason Day! Tied for the lead with 4 under battling through Vertigo after the 3rd round. Shares the lead with Dustin Johnson, Branden Grace and Jordan Spieth. Wow.

Great to see Day battle through. I'd love him to win, him or Grace. Although I wouldn't be against Johnson, I don't want Spieth to win again

Ian Poulter went off on Instagram wrt the greens. Good for him.

Spieth made some brillint shots and got himself another majors win. Dustin Johnson had a good chance to win AND an even better chance to force a playoff on the 18 and blew both of them. Branden Grace had some flat awful luck. Oosthuizen was brilliant today as was Adam Scott.
