Rose just got booked for deliberate handball. He did well in the lead up to the booking

Haven't been too impressed with Rose tbh. I know I can't make a judgem ent on this game alone but considering he's made our bench I just expected something a little better. Hopefully it's just an off game. Driver just gone off, if he played with his head up he wouldn't be a bad player, but the way he runs down blind alleys makes him look so average.

I think he's done well considering the team won't have played a game together before. Certainly done better than Walcott so far

Rose is a few years younger then the rest of the team, hes also been pretty isolated up front so..

I guess so, struggling to see from this game what his natural position is though, initially I thought he was a left winger when we signed him. And I remember some people saying he played like a left footed Lennon type of winger. This game though he's been central mostly, has had a few touches but not involved enough I don't think. Still all part of his development.

I'm in Sweden writing on the tournament. Been impressed with many of the English players. Jack Rodwell was outsatnding tonight. Everton have a gem on their hands.

iirc they've played him all over the pitch in the academy and reserves; he started off as a rather pacy left winger but he's been playing central for us - i don't think he has much experience playing behind the striker though, so it seems a bit unusual.

in any case he hasn't played much within the last season due to his injury, i'd expect him to be rusty

rodwell is indeed very good by all accounts, everton have a great academy

I watched the first half, Rose seemed lost. However he also seemed to be played out of position. Rodwell was immense, what a find he looks.

I thought Campbell looked good, a very busy player. shame we couldn't keep him. But he probably is best off elsewhere.

Wenger is apparently a massive fan of Rodwell and it seems obvious why. Hope he doesn't get his dirty hands on him though
