Bothroyd totally wasted the talent he had at this tournament. He may not have the best of them again, there's a good chance they'll be in the senior squad, sooner rather than later. Out after two games with that talent is shameful.

Looking at that starting 11 I can only name one that will make that step up to the senior team, maddison.

Foden, bissaka and gibbs white who were on the bench can as well. Why were they on the bench for such a crucial game.

Maddison was a big disappointment imo

The were a couple of the Croatian midfielders who looked very useful.
The French were a bit meh.

Why would you drop your best player for a game you need to win? What kind of message does that send out ??

It’s a weird one. I can understand resting a couple if you’ve won the first game convincingly. Romania are good on the counter and have some lively attackers but they aren’t some once in a generation special side. They’ve had the rub of the green in both their games big time.

AWB didn’t play well against France but he is 100 times better than Kenny. The centre halves are awful and Da Silva is a mistake waiting to happen, so you’re always going to struggle at times with the defence they had out. They were diabolical in both games

Gibbs-White, Foden, Sessegnon are three of the biggest talents in the whole tournament, none started last night. Maddison was very average at a level where he should be dominating.
Calvert-Lewis just can’t score goals it seems. He’s going to end up on of these hard working, awkward to play against strikers who barely scores ten a season.

Completely agree and would add AWB to Gibbs-White, Foden and Sess. These four talents and look how we end up. How Aidy is still managing at a decent level blows my mind, what a complete fuck up on his part. Dinosaur of a manager.

His problem is he’s a bit of a dinosaur who thinks he’s moved with the game. He doesn’t even play to his strengths which just ends up with a mishmash of an approach.
The fact he’s come out after a shambolic tournament and stated he’s no quitting and he’d have to be dragged from the job sums him up. Where is his pride? I have zero sympathy for people who aren’t good enough for their role yet simply won’t accept it.

Rumania were overall were worthy winners.
Foden should have started but he may have had a knock.
Madison is predominantly a free kick and corner taker and as a midfielder he’s just lightweight and needs a good defensive mid to do the heavy lifting. He’s to one dimensional imo.

We miss the lad !?? that was excellent last time but got the red.

its completely inexcusable. with the talent available to him, the team should have made the final at the very least. to be out after two games?

Losing to France with ten men is understadable, even if they should have had the game management to see it out to 1-1 at least. Conceding four goals and losing to Romania of all sides is unforgiveable.

Is there one good reason for keeping him on? The FA should sack him the minute the last group game is over. Failure like this is absolutely unacceptable and Pearce left after a similar shambles in 2013.

Maddison has been very disappointing in this tournament. His set piece delivery is very good though as you say.

I think Romania rode their luck massively. England should have been a couple of goals up before Kenny gifted them the penalty. As mentioned once or twice though, England didn’t stand a chance of progressing too far with that defence and the way they were set up.
I believe if a top coach was in charge of that squad I believe they’d have dispatched France and Romania with relative ease, but again, the defenders can’t be trusted so who knows!

I will say be very wary of what you see in this tournament going forward. Hagi is getting rave reviews but having watched both his games so far, not seen anything other than a player who has taken a couple of chances handed to him, oh and his surname, I can see someone getting burnt with him. Romania getting bigged up, but they rode their luck against the Croats, who looked very poor and then the same again against a terrible England. France looked very average too.
From what I’ve seen in the tournament, the quality is in the other groups. Italy look to have some absolute shoe ins when it comes to going on to become top players.

Anyone looking to pick up a potential superstar from a famous surname at this tournament should ignore Hagi and go all in on Chiesa. He looks brilliant

I've said in another post Ndombele and Chiesa this summer would be insane. He is so direct and powerful, the closest thing i have seen to Bale and i think is made for the premier league, such a fighting spirit as well, Poch would love him.

There was a couple midfielders in the Croatian side that looked tidy.
Thought the Leicester holding mid was excellent until the brain fart!
Was very disappointed with Reals new ’superstar’?

I don't remember names as you may have noticed.

Choudhry is good every time I watch him. He was coasting against France until his reckless moment as you say!

We are not that good. I would say only Foden(definitely)..Tomori and wan Bissaka possibly to make the England squad. It is a fact that 8 of our senior squad were qualified to play as under 21’s.
I hope Poch can sort Sessegnon out.....looked poor this season and in this tournament

Maybe not, but we're better than not getting out the group. I think Maddison also, will probably make the senior squad soon. And despite his awful challenge in the first game, I do rate Choudhury, and think he may well make the squad at some point. So there is pretty decent talent there imo.

We’ve got good players. It’s the coaching. Boothroyd has always been the wrong choice.

It’s not even just leaving AWB for Kenny on the night. Kenny being selected in the squad above James (Wigan player of the year), Aarons (EFL young player of the year) and Walker-Peters is absolutely laughable.
