Not sure where to bring this up but this thread is as good as any. Wanted to point out a few interesting stats:

  • Dele, who is in theory having a dip this season, is only behind De Bruyne, Sane and Pogba for assists. He is also only one goal/ assist behind Eriksen and Son for productivity, yet is 4 and 5 years their junior respectively.
  • Lloris, who is in theory having a bad season, is only behind De Gea for clean sheets. This despite having no consistent defence or even midfield in front of him this season. We have the third best defensive record.
  • Harry Kane has scored in14 of our 29 matches, having appeared in 27 of those, so while he’s scored 24 goals in total he’s scoring at a rate of 1 in 2. At the time of posting, we are the third highest scorers in the league... perhaps not such a one man team?
  • Harry Kane is the only player in the league who has won player of the month twice.
  • Only Azpilucueta, Walker and Cresswell (6 each) have assisted more than Davies (5) and Trippier (4). They have started upwards of 26 games each and are each outright top assisting full backs at their clubs, Davies has started 24 matches, Trippier has started 18 matches. They are the best assisting fullback combination in the league.

Basically, we have a collection of players performing at a very high level, consistently. I think we’d all agree that there is a missing ingredient somewhere, but we’re not far off having the whole package.

Kane, Eriksen and Lloris.

All our other players have suitable backups at similar quality levels.

Eriksen is unique in his skilset while Kane and Lloris are simply top drawer, especially compared to their competition.

No one is undropable, No player is bigger than the club.

That said, if all players are at 100%, Lloris, Verts, Toby, Dembele, Eriksen, Alli and Kane all start.

If Eriksen takes his place, and Lamela is among the attacking midfielders then I think we can handle it

I guess the way I looked at it was - which players have to be there for a top performance in a crucial game? - For me that includes Dembele.

We can get by without anyone when we have to as we’ve proven, but that wasn’t the lense I viewed it through.

funny to read this. Dele is undroppable - people dont understand what he does, but Poch does. He's got more games than Kane this year.

Sissoko is undroppable, he will almost fall over as the ball ricochets off his shins but he does well to stay up

Right at this moment in time, if they are available they play.
Kane
Eriksen
Dembele
Lloris
Vertonghen

On form and fully fit throw Toby into this list.

Borderline - Son

Presume this is for soliciting opinions, rather than thinking who would Poch consider undroppable. FWIW, there's only 2 players I think Poch would never drop - Kane and Lloris(the latter being team captain and because what dropping your keeper entails, as seen most recently at Man City).

For me it would be Kane, Eriksen, Verts, Toby and Lloris.
