I don't want to lose Lloris, there's no way we'll get a replacement as good. I said this with Modric and Bale though. To keep truly world class players we need champions league football. Until we get that we're a selling club. Top class players want champions league so we need to improve next season or I'll be saying the same about Kane and Eriksen.

I wouldn't sell unless he kicks up a stink, and even if he does not to another team in the Premier League. I'd genuinely put him in the top 3 goalkeepers in the world, and selling him would again just cement our status as a selling club.

I hate to admit it, but we are a selling club.

Nothing wrong with that as long as we have a strategy in place - do we sell to English clubs? Do we invest proceeds in the team? The stadium? The scouting network?

It is a long time since we were the Bank of England club. Chelsea and Man City have long since taken on that name.

What I would like to be is the Sporting Lisbon, Porto or Atletico of England in that we produce quality players, sell them on and promote from our younger teams.

If Valdes is back up to speed now then that's a tempting offer if Hugo does want to go. I always thought he got a bit of unjustified stick when he was at Barca. He would also be great as a sweeper-keeper in terms of playing the ball out from the back.

I don't know how much people are expecting us to get for Lloris when the time comes, but I suspect they are in cloud cuckoo land. No one really pays big, big money for keepers.

Come on guys it's an article from the Metro. They are always wrong. If it happens it happens but it will take a serious boat full of money to temp Levy......maybe a Liner full!

It is the only thing to keep me sane with the season winding down and as usual we have won FA. The TW brings hope at least.

Spurs are in my blood, winning is a bonus...
I just enjoy the evolution and all the twist and turn are just part of the pleasure.

I loath all the hype and fluff, though

You don't get better by selling your best players.
Any new player brought in is a gamble.
These high spending big boys dont offer big money just because they can. They could otherwise use the money to buy 2 good players. Why don't they?
They do it because 1world class player is more valuable and more useful than 2, 3, 4, etc mediocre ones (see sales for Modric, Bale, Berbatov, Suarez, Torres (although a good deal imo the money was pissed up the wall and Liverpool were not better without him).
Losing Lloris would be just another step backwards from achieving anything.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves imo.
Fully expect him to go though.
And we could do a lot worse than Vorm in goal.
Wouldn't say much about our ambition though would it.
But then if he wants to go, (if) and lets face it he'd be fkin nuts not to, what can you do?
I'd be happy if we sold him and spent the lot on one attacking player (not a fkin dm). Someone who is obviously shit hot to anyone with eyes. Thinking like a Suarez, Sanchez, even Willian type where you can see straight away they've got it.
Getting them to come to us will be the challenge and even then with our bloody luck they'll prob turn shite lol :(

Fk that made me laugh.
Classic. Nice one.
Edit- reading that back sounds like I was being sarcastic. I wasn't.
Guess we're all a bit masochistic supporting Spurs.
Does taste all the more sweet when we do win a trophy or beat Arsenal etc. Thumping Chelsea was just fantastic.

Anybody that would take that is out of their mind. Valdes is 5 years older and not close to a 5th of the keeper Lloris is. The loser mentality of some of our fans transmits to the players on the pitch. We simply will not be able to replace Lloris, he is in the top 5 'keepers in the world and makes a huge difference.

I'd rather have a crap GK and a world class defence

than a

crap defence and a world class GK.

Written by the reliable journalist 'Telegraph Sport' and it references the Metro.

In other words, it's bollocks.

We are rapidly heading into a Modric / Bale situation. Jurnos. are making this into a mountain of hype, unsettling Lloris, and our 1st team squad as well... Hugo and his agent, Levy and Poch. need to give a media tv report.. NOT FOR SALE.

Someone said above , we are a selling club. That is partly true....whether it's trying to shift dross purchased by various DoF's, or when we've bought and developed yet further, talent like Berbatov,Bale,Modric etc etc.
Bale situ showed, ALL our players are available, but at the RIGHT PRICE. And if the player is on a long enough contract that's (rightly) a very high price.
I'd love to see Hugo stay, he's been fantastic for us. But top class international players will attract huge interest, but come at a very high price. So if the Mancs want him it will take more than a few journos placing stories in their papers to get this deal done. Pay up or fvck right off.
Let's build a great side in front of Hugo ideally.
