On a thread entitled "Transfer Rumours" on BBC 606 (yes, I know the 606 is EXTREMELY dodgy but ValenciaY has proved himself to be very trustworthy) he posted this:

"Some, Are, Here, Aswell...."

Some bright spark picked up on the initials spelling "saha". Valencia replied:

"did i say that.............."

followed by:

"he's available for nada...the way we play at the moment, he would probably not have to play much more than one full game in three or the equivelent, lets be honest...the odd start/or full game, coming on every game or every other game for 20 or 25 minutes....you never know, or do you?"
and then:

"saha can now sign a pre-contract with a foreign club...his value to everton if they were to sell to en english club, now, is probably less than 2m and decreasing every week...pay as you play, maybe...its a rumour, its the month for rumours, theres a number of them at the moment, who knows but im sure we will see one or two signings....if we off load, lets say, only hutton and pav, its reasonable to say that we will be a wealer team without them, however poor our opinions are of them, simply because we wouldnt have those options, should we need them....naughton may be going back to SU on loan....cant rely on woody and king, what happens if bassong and or daws get injured, suspended....same with WP...."
and then (again!):

"Ive said all along that Sandro was coming as that was what i was told but it does appear that this may take longer than expected...right now, i kn ow nothing more than ive said before...we will al have to wait and watch...but i wouldnt worry to much, we will strengthen..."

Saha would be a good 4th choice striker actually. He has been quality when fit. Not bad at that price thats for sure.

I doubt Saha would see himself as 4th choice, 2nd= maybe. He wouldn't give us enough variety in options, but one suspects if he came it would lead to Keane leaving in the summer.

Would like him, not impressed with his injury record but he knows where the back of the net is

Losing Pav and bringing in Saha would be fine by me. I know Saha is a bit old and injury prone but when fit he is lethal in front of goal. Right now (assuming Pav is a goner) we have Defoe, who scores a lot, Keane, who scores occasionally, and Crouch, who scores occasionally. Saha would be a great option to have if ever Defoe dries up. The only problem I imagine is that an available Saha is likely to generate a lot of interest, including from clubs who will make him first choice.

ValY only gets to know things when they are in the final stages of paperwork so I remember being told, so we might have a shiny new Frenchman soon.

OK. Lets get some clarity here. As far as i know, as of very recently, all the names being mentioned, are, simply at the moment, rumours, chatter...be it from agents, papers, clubs, whoever, but as far as im concerned there's very little if any substance behind them, certainly at this stage. the only thing that i can say that there is any truth and substance to is, as others have mentioned, hutton to sunderland...im not saying its happening but i am saying that its a real scenario with substance behind it.....watch out for the smoke and be careful of the mirrors!

Another benefit to signing Saha would be that if we didn't he would fit ideally into Arsenal's side and would doubtless be very successful there. In fact with him and a decent goalkeeper they'd have a great chance of the title.

Saha sounds like a bloody good idea after today. Either him or Nistelrooy. I would've loved to see him come off the bench today.
