Sunderland Spur has had some correct info in the past about Sunderland so i have included this.

Newspaper reports today have been saying the price they will offer is £4m so thats not anything groundbreaking.

Can't say I blame him, to be honest.

He's a decent footballer and there's no way he's going to get regular games at Tottenham any time soon.

Just so long as AF isn't included in the deal which I fear he will be.

I'll be happy to see the back of him tbh. His repeated failure to mark goalside has irritated me endlessly, and by all accounts he's a nasty little thug off the pitch. I can't be proud to see him wearing our shirt.

At first I didn't think about AF but £4m is a bit on the lean side for Hutton so i'm wondering now too.

If this does happen, surely it'll be a deal like Bent's that rises to the full amount we paid, say +2m after 50 games and +2m if Scotland reach the next EC or WC, plus a sell-on fee.

AF?

Oh.. Jar Jar Jr.

Luckily, Bruce wanted a straight swap, or even cash plus Hutton, so I don't think Anton will be part of any deal.

However, we allegedly had a £16 million bid turned down for Kenwyne Jones over the summer. Truly crazy - by us, for offering that much, and for Sunderland to turn it down.

Keane + Hutton @£4 million = c£16 million. I hope not. :eek:mg:

Yeah but the base fee we paid on him was £8.9m, so we're taking a 50% hit. That doesn't sound like Levy.

Unless he's realised that we need to get people off the wage bill and marginal players and those who've had long-term injuries won't get their full money back on.

When we get Kyle Walker in we'll be well stacked with Right Backs so probably better to sell him as 2nd choice than 3rd choice.

What he said. No pressure to sell and only if a price that matches our valuation comes in. £4M won't be close.

I think this is a non-story.

True, but Hutton's value has plummeted due to injuries and lack of games. We are also unlikely to get a full return on Bentley, though we might get a return on Pav due to the value of a natural goalscorer across Europe.

That's what I mean. We won't get the 9m back - in the same way we didn't get the full 16m up front from SAFC for Bent. However, the 'total consideration' according to the stock market (including performance-related and appearance-related payments) was for the full amount we paid. Hence I think it'll be the same with Hutt.

Really? I always assumed that was the case but never saw it confirmed.

Back on piste... I agree with you on the "rising to" aspect to any Hutton deal. But I believe we'll hold out for at least £6M to be unconditional.

Spot on re the Bent deal. It will end up being £16m as it's based on Sunderland staying up this year plus a certain amount per goal until it reaches £16m. Guess Hutton would be based on appearances. Have faith in Levy - how do we make so much money. He even sold Chimbonda to Blackburn for more than we paid Sunderland!
