If you're one of the best four teams then I think you should be in regardless of how many loses you have.

It's opinion vs. resume. For me Georgia is a top 3 team but I also think the playoffs should be the four most deserving teams and a Georgia team that lost by about 20 points to a three loss LSU team isn't deserving of a playoff place.

Michigan is the only truly good team they played.
That’s true but as a Michigan fan, im not even sure we are that good. Yes, we’re decent but we’d get shitpumped by Bama, Clemson, OU, and Georgia. Hell, OSU would get steamrolled by those guys and they shit pumped us, The gulf in qulity is just fucking huge.

Wrt the playoff, Bama will likely steam roll their way to another title. They will shitpump Clemson or ND. But i will say out of any of these teams, I think OU has the best shot at beating them if they can get the offense going. If they cant, Bama will roll through them. There just too good.

But there needs to be an 8 team playoff. Power 5 champs and 3 at large(unless theres a 3 loss conference champ - then 4 at large). Like this would have been an all at large year. 8 teams would have put Georgia, UCF, OSU and Michigan in. 4 is terrible and always invites controversy. I think 16 is too much and is just inviting the mediocre of the top 25(the 4 loss teams). 8 is perfect.

that would work. you get the 5 major champs and 3 others and there can be no complaints. or alternatively just give it to Alabama every year in August.

how do you know Georgia is one of the four best teams? The whole thing is kind of a joke. Honestly, if you want Georgia in get rid of Notre Dame but that wont happen. Similarly, UCF hasnt lost a game since 2016 and is a conference champion. What do you have to do to get in?

The whole system makes no sense to me. It's so ridiculously subjective and also you have to remember that the playoffs are basically a TV show so when you have people actively choosing who gets in, there's always going to be some sort of bias in terms of picking the teams that are going to draw the highest ratings rather than necessarily who the most deserving teams are. It's just completely open to bias and corruption.

I've said for ages they should switch to an 8-team playoff where it's the winners of the power 5 + 3 teams selected by the committee. It's still not perfect but it'd be a much fairer system IMO.

Army went 10-2 and beat Oklahoma and wasn't ranked.

They just hung 70 points on Houston.

Army was criminally underrated this season. They are an awesome team with a great offense and a great D. Everyone hates the triple option yet no one but other service academies can stop it. Have always been fond of Army and happy to see them finally have success.

My football betting a career is a slideshow of bad beats but i think that liberty bowl might take the cake. Not the worst beat i’ve ever had but im just so upset by it. The over was definitely going to happen and then it didnt. Had OK state money line and over 72. Getting a fucking td would have killed you, Mike Gundy?!? FUCK!

Horns whoop SECSECSEC

Credit to Herman for getting the Horns ready but....wow did it look like there were a fair number of UGA players who just didn't care about what was going on in that game. Smart has always struck me as a pretty good coach but UGA had a whole bunch of players that looked like they were put out by being asked to play in that game.

Agreed. Georgia didn't look as up for it as they usually do. Always had a soft spot for the Horns after that win over USC so hopefully, this win helps Herman and the Horns to kick on and challenge again.

I think the future of college football is unless you're in the playoffs or a smaller program the bowl games don't matter all that much. We're seeing an increasing number of players understandably sitting out these games in order to protect their future - IIRC Michigan had four players sitting out the Peach Bowl and I don't see that trend being bucked anytime soon.

if you cant get up for the sugar bowl that's you're own damn fault. thats the arrogance of the SEC - a 2 loss Georgia feels it deserves the play-off spot more than Ohio State or Oklahoma. They didnt make a good case for themselves last night.

Thanks for showing up, Bama. Yikes. Getting wrecked by a true freshman QB and true freshman WR. Clemson just thoroughly outplaying them. An absolute ASS kicking.

When Lawrence is eligible in 2 years, he’s going to be scary good. Holy hell.

Agree - Clemson were on it from the off. Every aspect of their game was totally up for it. They should stay #1 for the next couple of years easy.
