Nearly 2 hrs 15 mins of play and its 1-1 in sets, both tie breaks, great game so far

Both players on top form, best of 3 now

Novak 2 sets to 1 down against Nishikori. I didn't see that coming.

Woohoo!!! well done Nishi!!!!!

Been awhile since a male Asian player has done so well in a grand slam.....

must be great having Chang as a coach.

Well played Kei! Roger must be trying not to look too far ahead, but he's not going to get a better chance for another major.

Would be delighted to see Federer win another major. Still plenty of work to do though.

And Fed already 5-2 down already in the first set

There's a fresh belief in the chasing pack now

Not looking good for Federer at all. I wonder what odds you'd have got for a Nishikori / Cilic final!

I wonder how CBS will feel having Nishikori v Cilic as their final US Open final after having 47 years of coverage.

How many casual US tennis fans will have heard of either player

Straight sets, oh dear. The Federer of old would have wiped the floor with Cilic.

He served well and was hitting ground shots hard through the wind, which seemed to affect Roger more (cue Bond joke).

But you're right, the old Roger would have found a way. Got to have been his last chance for a major.

Can't see Nishikori getting out of this one. Cilic is moving well, hitting it well, and isn't suffering nerves. Straight sets, for me.

"S. Williams"

Sometimes when she comes out to the field of play

You can see it in her eyes and her determined way

That she has decided mentally to beat her opponent already

The other player is weak and shaky like spaghetti

Then when they line up and face each other off before the game

The wind blows softly and moves her curly golden hair frame

Her powerful muscles seem elegant and feminine when shes cool

But when she smashes the ball her arm is like a jackhammer tool

She never humiliates her opponent after winning a game or ball

Neither does she hold her head arrogantly or act tall

I never liked tennis before I discovered you Serena

I think you seem a bit wild sometimes like my cat Sabrina

I just want you to win every time I see you on TV live

When you raise your fist after a victory I do a high five

Whenever I see you play it feels like im dancing with you

That means I have to drink some Earl Grey tea tonight too
