Why is Fryers not going to the World Cup on that form? He's clearly the best English defender of all time, Hodgson is a disgrace!

Ade and Soldado started 7 games together for 17 points - 2.4 per game, or 92 points extrapolated over a season.

Spurs scored 1.9 goals in those games, and conceded 0.7 goals per game (compared to 1.4 scored, and 1.3 conceded for the season)

Soldado starting as a lone striker: 1.6 points per game, scoring 0.9 goals/game
Adebayor starting as a lone striker: 1.3 points per game, scoring 1.3 goal/game

Based on the various combinations, our best line-up last year would probably have been a 4-4-2 with:

Lloris
Walker
Dawson
Vertonghen
Rose
Lennon
Paulinho
Dembele
Eriksen
Soldado
Adebayor

Of course, we never fielded that specific team - but we did start at least 9 of those players in the same game seven times: 6 wins, and a draw. (Crystal Palace, Swansea, Norwich, ManU, Palace, Hull, Everton)

Makes sense, that probably would be our best team on last season's sometimes bizarre form, although many would no doubt disagree about Dawson, Rose, and Lennon (i.e., anyone English basically). Nice to see the stats support it - must have taken a while to sort that all out though.

Also shows that Soldado was actually pretty effective somehow, beyond not scoring as many goals as one might have hoped, apparently he generally made the team better.

I think Soldado was very effective when starting with Ade -- Soldado got the assists and Ade scored pretty freely when they were together... at least that's the way I remembered it

Back for more interesting, but useless facts:

Lloris and Eriksen only players to start all 22 games, Chadli and Lamela both at 19.

Arguably our best "spine" (at least based on perception): Lloris, Fazio, Vertonghen, Mason, Bentaleb, Eriksen, Kane - a total of 1 game started with this line up: 2-1 win against Burnley

ETA - both Chelsea games also: 3-0 @Chelsea, and 5-3 @home

2014/15, PL games only

Most Points per Game - Based on games started (min of 5 games started):

Walker - 6 starts, 15 points, 2.5/game 95 point pace
Soldado - 7 starts, 16 points 2.3/game 87 point pace
Bentaleb - 10 starts, 22 points 2.2/game 84 point pace
Davies - 7 starts, 14 points, 2.0/game 76 point pace
Naughton - 5 starts, 10 points, 2.0/game 76 point pace
Vertonghen - 17 starts, 33 points, 1.9/game 74 point pace
Kane - 12 starts, 23 points, 1.9/game 73 point pace

Other notables:
Lloris/Eriksen/Spurs 22, 37, 1.7, 64
Mason 14, 24, 1.7, 65
Rose 15, 23, 1.5, 58
Lamela 15, 24, 1.6, 61
Townsend 4, 4, 1, 38

Kaboul 11, 14, 1.3, 48
Ade 9, 14, 1.6, 59
Capoue 11, 14, 1.3, 48

Walker makes sense, but mildly surprised by Soldado

Surely that's not true? Those players all also started against Chelsea (H), Swansea, Palace (H), Chelsea (A), Everton (H).

Yeah, I got a couple in the wrong spot - but, Everton, Palace and Swansea - Kane did not start as the striker, he played behind Soldado.

So Burnley and both Chelsea games.

More useless info:

Points per game w/ Kaboul as a captain:
PL: 1.45 (A bit better than Swansea so far this season, ie. enough for 9th)
EL: 1.5

Points per game w/ Lloris as a captain:
PL: 1.91 (the same as The Saints so far this season, ie. enough for 3rd)
EL: 2.5
