Valencia have agreed a deal to sign Dag Alexander Olsen from Tottenham Hotspur, according to the player's father.

Olsen has spent two years at White Hart Lane, but the Norwegian has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Premier League club.

His contract expires at the end of the season and the striker has now accepted a move to Spain with Valencia.

The youngster's father Dag Erland Olsen confirmed that Valencia had been long-term admirers of the 19-year-old.

    Easy decision

"His contract with Tottenham expires in the summer and, when Valencia came with an offer for four-and-a-half years, the decision was easy," Olsen told VG.

"The most important thing for us is that the clubs reached an agreement.

"Valencia have shown interest ever since Alex signed for Tottenham and he has now taken that step.

"He has learned a lot at the academy and developed well, but when new managers come in a few times, it might be the worst possible thing for a young foreign player."

    oops striker...silly me..

well is a shame but harry and youth team coaches obviously rate obika above any others and have chosen to give him the chance..

I've never liked this kid when I've seen him. Blistering pace but weak as hell and awful touch. I am shocked that Valencia have come in for him as he really is just pace. Not a patch on Pekhart, and the yuong Czech ain't exactly mercurial himself.

As for Obika, all the time's I've seen him I've preferred him to anything Campbell has shown me, so I would not mind him getting a go some time down the line.

And I hope they've started injecting Mason with some eggs and beef to bulk him out a bit, because he is fantastically talented, I'd say even more than Bostock from what I've seen (though Bostock is a deeper lying player in the u18s than Mason is, bit like a Carrick and J.Cole).

Wasn't he on the bench yesterday? Maybe we were gonna use him and he's jumped ship?
