Valencia fans are clearly hoping that Tottenham Hotspur are open to selling Bryan Gil permanently this summer, with a video showing many in the streets chanting that they want the forward to stay beyond his loan.

Probably well suited to them, if we re-coup a good chunk of the money might be good all-round if Conte is sticking around as Gil doesn't suit Conteball, he was brought in for 4-3-3 nunoball.

Circumstances change, adapt is key.

i guess he's doing really well, here's a player who could maybe do a job playing off kane and son. a bit deeper which would help the isolation of our 2 man midfield

Let’s hope he’s not sold just because he doesn’t ‘fit’ into the current manager’s system.

No way. This guys looks a real talent, and Conte won't be here long. We just need to learn to use him properly. Can't let the few decent players we have leave.

Looks very lightweight and no end product, I know he's young and raw but I'm not seeing it just yet.

For context Kulu is the same age as Gil...

It's a weird one and situation for the club. He's currently playing on the left (his preferred position) in a 343 (the same formation we play every match). I know he needs to bulk up but I think a large part of it is confidence too and a run of matches to show what he can do. Son is one of few players in our first XI that seems to be undroppable, but where it gets odd is Son hasn't been amazing over the last few months. So if he's undroppable even when he's playing bad, where does a Gil or Bergwijn fit in? Especially Bergwijn, who Conte defended to the press that he didn't want him to leave and he can trust him, yet he hasn't been able to get anything more than 10-15 mins per match even in a busy schedule.

I just feel that Liverpool would not have the same problem. I think part of their success has been that they've been able to build a quality squad and trust rotational players. Sure our squad has a long way to go, but I often find myself looking at Liverpool's line up and thinking, "wow that's not their best 11" yet they still pull off results. Whereas with our club, if we have one match without Son or Kane - it's the end of the world. Not saying I want to rely on a Gil or Bergwijn the whole season but it would be nice to see a mentality shift of we can play some of these players to improve them, while giving some of our stars a chance for a breather or sub them in when needed to change the game as opponents fatigue.

I agree. And this made our bid for Diaz very surprising. Where would he have fitted in?

Kulu's frame has allowed him to break through earlier, but some of the best Premier League players in recent times have looked light weight to begin with. He'll have to learn to use his body better, sure, but he's looking excellent in Spain and there's a little risk in seeing if he can succeed here. If not we can still sell him for a decent price in one or two years.

If you read the recent interview Gil gave he's very aware he needs to bulk up his physique and is working on it even while he is on loan.

Right I'm hoping we're going to get to that point where we can rotate or trust the squad over a few individuals to show up every game. Even if we have Kane and Son with the ability to get 20 goals a season, you probably need another 1-2 options that can get around the 10 mark and Lucas, Bergwijn, and Gil haven't been able to do that unfortunately. Part of it seems to be lack of time or not being trusted, so certainly a decision has to be made.

I think there are players in Bergwijn and Gil but trust Conte to make the right choices for his squad. But even so, I hate when some argue what we need more attackers for since we have the best - look at the breakdown between the two clubs. Liverpool has almost double the goal output and still felt the need to add Diaz into the mix in Jan..

Even just looking at Liverpool:
- Salah - 19 goals
- Jota - 12 goals
- Mane - 11 goals
- Firmino - 4 goals (8 in all comps)
- Minamino - 2 goals (9 in all comps)
- Origi - 2 goals (5 in all comps)
- plus they just added Diaz!

Compared with our attacking options:
- Son - 10 goals
- Kane - 8 goals
- Kulusevski - 2 goals (5 matches played)
- Bergwijn - 2 goals
- Lucas Moura - 2 goals (6 in all comps)
- Gil - 0 goals

I would prefer if we sell him to Sevilla, and in return they give us back Lamela. Oh, a man can dream.

Indeed, as I've said before he knows why he was loaned and it wasn't the same as the others which is why there was no option/obligation for permanent transfer even on the table.

We can't give up on him so early. He looks class, just needs to grow physically and develop more. He's a tenacious player so I think he can absolutely make it in England. I wouldn't be against loaning him next season though. Bergwijn is looking good now and holds the ball up well. Maybe stick with our current support forwards with Gil on loan next season and get a target man to complete our forward line.

I think there’s a “Spanish premium” in Spain the same way there is for English players domestically

Ferran Torres was bought from City for 55M after City spent c. 20M

I can imagine the feeling was that worst case we sell him for a tidy profit - best case we have a much more experienced player ready for the league
