Just wondering if there are any good replays VDV's goa; which, perhaps, zoom in on it?

just wondering if it was a handball - it looked like it might have been.

Really hard to tell for sure.

I sit in Block 31 i.e. right by where he was, and my initial thought was that it hit his arm. Interesting that none of the Arsenal defenders appealed though.

I think Mertesacker claimed initially but it was short lived - I suppose they would have been claiming a lot more if it was clear cut

I don't believe it was handball - I agree with Glenn Hoddle when he said he trapped it with the arc of his chest and shoulder.

The funny thing was when Alan Smith sat there and said 'I don't understand how he could bring the ball down at that angle' and God replied 'It's pretty easy to bring a ball down with the apex of your chest/shoulder joint' at which Smith looked completely bemused.

Who you gonna believe? One of the most talented footballers of a generation or a lanky streak of piss who can't understand how to control a ball

No one can say 100% whether it was handball and unfortunately you don't get a sense of depth on the camera angle to see if it did touch his arm, maybe one of the guys at sky could do a similar to they do in cricket and show the path of the ball and if it changed directions twice that would defiantly confirm

I've seen it countless times now from every angle available and it is still impossible to conclude either way.

Therefore it is one of those situations where it would have caused controversy whatever call the ref made. If it had been disallowed and cost us the game, it would have been reported as a very hard call on Spurs. Ergo (oh yes, ergo) people should just back the referee's call as there is no way of saying decisively whether he got it right or wrong.

Furthermore, the referee couldn't see it as he was behind the play and the linesman was on the other side of the pitch so he couldn't possibly see it clearly when various cameras have failed to settle the debate. This, in my mind, is another reason why it HAD to stand as any decision to rule it out would have been guesswork, and the pundits and ex pros usually say that if the ref isn't sure he should just let the play continue.

As Big Red said yesterday, if we are watching it 15 times and still not can't actually tell, then it wouldn't have been right for the ref to give it. And now we are talking about all fancy gadgets and everythang...it might have been, but the ref couldn't possibly tell, as we still can't, it's done.

Whinger...do one you hypocritical piece of shi'ite:roll:
