It must have helped him develop as a player I am sure...but in the end it is his quality, and not versatility, that will eventually get him in to the starting X!.

Yea until the day you are always the sub because the manager can't decide what your best position is so he holds you back BECAUSE of your versatility.

I agree. Much better that he plays in the position that he is best at. Then he can develop properly into that role. I doesn't hurt to be versatile but you don't want to be a "jack of all trades, master of none".
