I can see an embarrassing score line against Chelsea If we start with a defensive line up of Naughton, Rose, Kaboul and Fazio tbh. :(

We have had embarrasing score lines with every single one of our defenders (apart from Davies who hasnt had his chance) so it could be to do with more than just those personel.

The assist for Chadli's goal was pants? We have other players putting in good crosses that we can measure Rose's poor crossing against?
WOW!! Don't you love it when people pick out one good pass in a hundred (y)

Same goes for England too, one good pass/goal and you place is set for the next 2 - 3 years...

Wow! Dont you just love it when people can only see the things that support their agenda, despite the fact that we have NO-ONE putting decent crosses or corners in you can pick on Danny Rose.

I don't have an agenda, I just watch football and try not to bullshit what I see.

He has improved on last season no doubt, but is still very inconsistent with his crosses, which has be been awful in the final third in general IMO.

Where have I not said other players are no putting awful crosses in? This is an article in part about Rose, correct? So it would make sense for me to talk about Rose? Not much of an agenda trying to keep it on topic.

Townsend, Lennon, Rose, Dembele... To name but a few have been awful with there passing and choice making over the years.

Agenda driven my arse.

Rose is a great attacking wing player but he gets found out in defence against reasonable teams. I think play them both!

Interesting option. Rose does look more forward going forward than back. Could try him at left midfield but only as part of a 4 man midfield, not creative enough to replace a Chadli-type supporting a striker role

and the assist for adebayor vs qpr. or the cross for soldado vs city, or the two brilliant balls he put in against newcastle which should've been converted.

The system we play where width has to come from the full backs, he is probably our best option at the moment (actually Vertonghen could do a useful job in that position but he doesn't want to play there). That's why the defensive midfield position (Capoue should be edging across there to cover) not to mention wary central defenders is very important. Rose and Walker when he is back are going to be forward in this system quite a lot if it works right, so the people commenting about him being out of position don't understand how this is supposed to work or what is being asked of him. Until we can sign somebody like Ivanovic who for me is one of the most complete in the prem, we have to get used to Rose (until we start moaning about Davies). Rose is never going to be a left midfielder for us unless we have loads of injuries.

I was quite interested in what Vertonghen had to say until the point where he said that Danny Rose is one of the best left backs in the league. I haven't watched all of the left backs in the league, but I'll be amazed if Rose isn't one of the worst.

It's very simple - the last player we signed who wasn't played despite being obviously better than the incumbent was Lloris, and he's been a great success... Davies the world beater!

Davies isn't obviously better though. In fact, on current evidence - he is considerably worse.

People doing Rose like he's the source of all our woes makes me laugh.

He really is the least of our worries at the moment.
