Because that inept fucker Wilmots keeps playing him at LB.

Blow for us too I assume. He could be out a long time!

On another note, did Chadli make it into the squad? Assume not. And I didn't see Dembele feature in their win.

Fellaini over Mousa?

Trying to be optimistic it says six to eight weeks, which means back in September. We saw last season that Wimmer is a capable back up. We need to avoid any more injuries but there's still the option of playing Dembele and Wanyama to allow Dier to drop back. Another centre back wouldn't be a bad idea though.

Wimmer played exceptional when he came in for Jan last time, and anyway i can' see Levy buying another CB especially as we have cover, that is unless we have a clear out.

Surprised he didn't make the 1st 11 for Austria. Also thought he played so well in Jan's absence.

Davies plays as part of a back 3 for Wales, maybe he can play as the left sided centre back in some cup games? Just as cover.

Dembele is banned for the first few games.

Kevin Wimmer may even be able to hold on to his position this time.

I felt he was unlucky to lose his place last time as he hadn't done anything wrong.

It may be an opportunity for Cameron Carter Vickers to be around the first team.

Invaluable experience for a top prospect.

September isn't too bad really - 3, maybe 4 games without him but, as has been previously mentioned, Kev Wim is a more than capable replacement. He was very unlucky to lose his place when Jan returned as he struck up an excellent partnership with Toby in those few months he featured. Also, Eric Dier could fill in at the back thanks to the addition of Wanyama and our existing plethora of central midfielders
