I cannot imagine we would let him leave at this point unless we think he had been permanently broken.

Do you think he's fallen out with Poch over the last couple of years or do you think his injury has made him unreliable. Seems strange for us to sell a player who was a key signing a couple of seasons ago.

I absolutely love big Vic but injuries do seem to be an issue. I'd be surprised if he passed a medical but Roma have previous, pretty sure they signed Strootman while he was out with an ACL injury.

Injury last year really set him back he struggled when he came back into the team and to pick up the same injury again is not good.... seems strange that we havent heard anything back from the club since poch sent him home from the tour to get his injury checked

He wasn't very good last season. I think selling him would be rash, but could certainly be upgraded (but not at this short notice)

Saw n’zonzi mentioned. I’m surprised we haven’t been linked with him this window. It feels like every other premier league club has.

Like Rose, I imagine this is down the list of priorities at this stage.

Release clause of around £35-40m. Wouldn't surprise me as a fall back option. Especially now we seem to be in the market for a player that can play CM and DM. I think he's been superb for Sevilla.

I'm worried he may have gone full Sandro. He clearly wasn't fully fit when he came back last season - just remember how good he was alongside Dembele the season before! :(

I wonder if he is out long term if we might not register him for this half of the season. We need to free up space for non HG in the squad and there doesn't seem to be any outgoings as yet. If he's out for a few months again it may not be worth having him until Jan. It could explain why the links to a defensive midfielder.

Tanzania? He's Kenyan, no?
Yes but African citizens quite like to celebrate other African achievements - as a continent.

It was in Dar es Salaam.

"BBC Africa football correspondent Stanley Kwenda says that Wanyama is the poster boy of East African football, and that in the absence of a strong national football team from the region he is the face of the game there."
