.

Tony Xia is believed to be close to selling his majority share in Villa, as he looks to solves the club’s financial problems.

The article says it won't affect the Grealish transfer, but I can't help but feel it might push the price into uncomfortable territory for us.

Also - good news for Villa. Hope they sort their act out.

Sadly true & makes our dithering over Grealish rather foolish, because this investment must affect their view on his value.

They can just hold out for what they think he's worth if the tax man is hounding them down.

Not sure how this will effect the deal. It might help because with some future looking possible they will want to get the books into as good shape as possible but not need to hold out for every penny in order to survive. I guess they need the new owners to say OK go ahead with the planned deals. In the big picture a few million is not really going to make a difference to a major investor

I thought all the dithering with the Grealish deal was due to the Villa side and not our end, which it now seems it was. I would have imagined the new owners said no to any movements till they are 100% in place and have their feet under the table so to speak.

So, IF Grealish does go ahead, I wouldn't expect it till end of next week at the earliest.
