more like what you can afford

Monaco blew us out of the water with Moutinho! he got wages £210k pw

The rest were not cheap as we know
No I believe he ended up in Monaco the following window or the next season. And at the time he was definitely what we needed.. And at the time most of us were clamoring for us to sign Damiao. We all know the story about William. . Oscar though we were blown out of the water..

AVB did not mentioned that he was also asked to make full use of the academy. I don't think he did.
And I think he joined the wrong club if he thought we can buy and pay yhe wages of the players he mentiones.

so during the course of AVBs interviews for the job it was crystal clear to Levy that AVB wanted expensive players that Levy could not deliver. After falling out with the senior pros at Roman FC. Yet Levy still hired him, an absolutely idiotic appointment. Oh and AVB, unless hes lying, wanted a DoF but not Baldini, yet Levy still hired Baldini. Equally ludicrous. And people wonder why some question Levy's judgement?!

I know - drives me nuts every time - people making the same points in different places - you have to follow two threads instead of just one...

I can never be bothered to read the forums - too much childish bickering and moaning so always read the front page. Sad day for me when I had to click on a link to really go so.

Either that or AVB who was out of work and desperate to vindicate himself after the Chelsea debacle told Levy what he wanted to hear at the interview and is now rewriting history… I know which seems more likely to me.

Running a mid sized corporate you need to be able to see past people telling you what they think you want to hear.

True, Levy has always been gullible where slick young men in suits are concerned (see the career of Damien Comolli), but that does not excuse AVB or justify his version of events.

Interviews are all about telling them what they want to hear. It's up to the Interviewer to determine whether it's all BS

Which is what Poch was doing until recently. I'm glad he's come to the conclusion it's daft and i genuinely hope it's not just a short term fix.

Or Levy was just after the cheapest option to replace Harry and was going to give AVB the job no matter what he said.......now that seems more likely to me.

Exactly what Im worried about this weekend.
Let me see... at home... Against the mighty Burnley. ..
Hhmmm, think we better stick Stam and Bentaleb in front of back four just to be safe.
1up front, bound to nick a goal eventually. ... hopefully.
Can't play Soldado anyway as he scored last game, house rules.
And think I'll give Lamela another go even though we look miles better without him. Maybe put Lennon on left as he looks good out there. Don't want Chadli, fker keeps scorin.
Yeah, that ought to fk things up nicely. (y)

Apologies for sarcasm but I can't understand what we're picking the starting 11based on. Certainly not performance.
Think it comes out of Levys hat then Baldini changes it and hands it to Poch.
"Lamela??? Again??? Seriously??? SHIEETTT!" lol.
