If we get a penalty , hope Janssen takes it instead of Kane & scores. First goal in league by hook or crook will only make him better.
Not if he misses.

Would rather he gets one through open play and not heap pressure on him in a pen situ. for his first goal.

Yes. Anywhere in the 4.

He doesn't have anywhere near the control or trickery to play wide. His main attribute is his back to goal play and ability to pin centre backs. Neutering his main strength and making him play out of position while he's trying to adapt to a new league doesn't strike me as a good idea.

just because janssen drifts out to the wings and works the channels doesn't mean he'd be a good fit to start there, is he really suited to spending half the game working back the other way helping the full back? i also think his biggest strength is his ability to hold up the ball with his back to play, starting out wide you're more often than not facing the play and being asked to move forward with the ball. ultimately i don't know why there's a clamour to move him when he's doing a good job playing the role we specifically bought him to fulfil.

Still think we lack pace up top. In any of the positions. I may be the only one, but a berahino type player, that can play up top or left or right with pace, would be a great addition to our current team

I think Son is supposed to be that player...

His game - from what I can tell so far - is give 'n go, create, move, push, pressure, penetrate.

See above.

Also, it's an option. My first team selection was him at 10 and harry at point for the everton game.

People saying we shouldn't play him where he's not maximised, yet are wiling to have Harry at 10 to slot Vince in at point. Odd.

iirc Harry didn't score umpteen goals for us in the last two seasons from 10....

Now that's not me saying he shouldn't ever play there; just a point.

Also, both eriksen and lamela - and alli for that matter - rarely play in the position that totally maximises their ability. We just can't do that for everyone every game. They all can't play at 10.

What we did successfully last season - that gave us a chance at the title - was balance the attributes across the A3 enough to be effective.

Poch is about flexibility when it comes to personnel, so whilst some don't like the idea of shifting Vince around, don't be too surprised if poch does when Kane plays point.

It's the equivalent of saying Eriksen or Lamela should play up front on their own.

At the full time whistle yesterday, he immediately collapsed and just lay on the ground looking absolutely shattered. His work rate, from minute one to the very end, was absolutely phenomenal. He's gonna be a big player for us this season.

So move our top goal scorer and current golden boot winner from his best position and also move a 20 year old who scored 10 league goals in his first PL season coming straight out of league one either, again, out of position or onto the bench for someone who's played two games in the premier league?

I appreciate Janssen has done well in his first two appearances for us but I think some people are getting a bit carried away.
For some games , yes. That's why you have a squad.

Alli is very young and will need to rest some times. Other times Kane, Janssen, Eriksen or Lamela will be rested.

I don't think Kane's best position is necessarily up top. He can be even more effective in the number 10 role.

I love this, should be the default for all players - don't walk off that pitch with anything left

Whether joking or not comparisons to soldado are rediculous. This guy looks so wel suited to the prem, he bully's defenders, has a decent bit of pace and movement, a great left foot(not so great right) can head the ball and link up play and works his ass off!!!

He was probably MOTM vs Palace.

The goal will come and he will be huge for us this year. Great work scouting team considering he's only 2-3 weeks into his spurs career he's already adapting bloody quickly.

Janssen hasn't played in the wing before, he is a centre forward. His strengths are best utilised as a striker.

You say that, but I remember the last number 9 who's first goal in the league was a penalty...

If we can get him and Kane both firing and in the goals we could really look lethal. Just hope it all starts clicking sooner rather than later.

just want him and Kane to be like what sturridge and suarez were at their best...

and a healthy competition between them two can only be good for the club..

Way I see it we have the following challenging for the four attacking roles

Kane
Janssen
N'Jie/N'Koudou
Eriksen
Lamela
Son
Onomah
Chadli
Alli
Carroll
Mason

They're very good options but I feel we're missing something. Can't quite put my finger on it and am worried I'm just being a greedy twat

Probably because it's moving Alli out of the position he did so well in last year.
