City have just splashed out £20m on a German with a worse injury record than Wheelchair and Anderton combined, the market has gone mad, i would be surprised Janssen is less than £25m

Wouldnt that make them technically dead ?

He's also one of the best midfielders in Europe when fit, no idea how you are comparing Gundogan for £20m with £25m for Janssen. There's no way this guy would cost £25m.

Disagree

Prolific at club level, only 21, already made his mark with the national team, Suarez went for about £26m years ago after being top scorer in the Dutch league and he was lot older than Janssen, with the inflation in the market since Suarez sold i would say Janssen will easily cost £25m

So can this bloke run fast? Kane fast?

I've only seen him in that Wembley friendly, loved the way he barreled Jagielka off the ball for their winner, nice left foot...

So, as a comparison, what's the general consensus, Batshuayi or Janssen going to be a better fit for us? What strengths will each one bring?

That was back when the Eredivisie was known as the place to go for the next best in the world type players, the league has fallen a long way since then. Back then if a player was doing well they may well be the next Ronaldo, the Dutch were regularly importing the best young South Americans and turning them into stars.

This guy doesn't have close to the levels of hype Memphis had, and yet he only cost £23m.

Looks to me that it depends what you want. If you want a player who can play off Kane then Batshauyi. If you want a player who can take Kanes place so he can rest then Janssen. Slightly simplistic but it seems the general consensus

I agree. I think he would be around the 12 to 15 million mark. Could be shrewd move.

With us reportedly after 2 strikers then signing both isn't out of the question.

the word is two forwards, not two no 9s. Which they both are. 3 players vying for one spot. Neither of them
Will ever be better than Kane

Dunno. From what ive seen Batman is a striker. I'd class Janssen as a forward more similar to Harry.

Never seen him play other than the YouTube videos. Bearing in mind that Gregorz Rasiak looked as good as Dmitar Berbatov on YouTube, I would say the following:
  • he looks strong in the tackle
  • he can finish
  • he is comfortable with the ball at his feet
  • he can pick out a pass in the box
He can only ever be evaluated in the context of where he plays, but I think the days of suggesting he may not be good enough despite his scoring records in the Eredivisie no longer hold, given the talents of van Nistlerooy and Suarez. The only way to know is letting him play in England, really.

Depending on the fee, he could be a real talent and it's great we're being linked to players like him.

Yeah if Jansenn is 12 million then we had a budget of 25-30 on a secondary striker and then remaining 18 mill on a cm. I'm making up a 60 mill budget

Why would a player who got 27 goals, plays for Holland and is 21, be available for 12 mill? Double that and you have a chance

I've watched the whole game (I'm from Poland :p ) and I have to say this guy really impressed me. Seems like he is a very inteligent player, always knew what to do next, he was making right decisions, really good technic, scored once and had a few shots. He is strong, I think he is not as fast as Kane but somewhere near :D. For 21 years old player he is very mature on the pitch. I've watched him on YT earlier and I've noticed that he is very good finisher. Well, that match confirmed it. He scored one goal and had 2 or 3 really dangerous shots from difficult positions that nearly reached the goal. He was better than Lewandowski or Milik (still Lewy rulez).

Maybe he is simmilar to Kane but would it be bad to have two Kanes in our squad? It would be like having one Kane fit and health all the season despite the amount of games :D Works for me :D With Son and N'jie, and I think you will agree that both have something to prove and both have potential, and two strikers like Kane and Janssen we would have really great attacking options that could do both in PL and CL.

My opinion is based on few YT videos and one whole game so you know, don't take me like an oracle :D but yeah, I think this guy is really worth a shot.
