Hey guys,

How are you all doing?

Here's a piece we've done looking at whether Spurs should stick or twist when it comes to Janssen.

"Janssen’s statistics show there is definitely a capable player in there somewhere, however, if the player, Pochettino and the fans have lost faith in his ability to find the back of the net in England, there’s no room for complacency in the Premier League.

Spurs want to challenge for the title, and to do that, they need to look beyond showing compassion to Janssen. The needs of the many always outweigh the needs of the few."

Vincent Janssen: Stick or Twist

Cheers,

Very much in the 'stick' side of the debate. He's had a year acclimatising to the EPL and I think / hope he comes good next season.

I think he was really unlucky not to have scored a few more last season. He had plenty of shots that were blocked or met with fantastic saves from the opposition goalie. I believe he will come good, if we give the lad a chance. Let's face it, he knows what's expected of him and he has a terrific history of scoring in the Eredivisie (27 from 34 the season before last...) so I say give the boy a chance for him to repay the faith we showed in bringing him to the EPL in the first place. I don't think w'll regret it.

I don't know, I mean, is giving a young player only his second season with us and in the Premier League really just simply 'showing compassion'? I'd like to think not really, you only have to look at Lamela as an example of it being wrong to strike a player off too early.

Only thing I would say is that I wouldn't argue with someone who says we need more capable back up to Kane and that would put Janssen further down the pecking order and that would leave you wondering where how much he would feature.

I'm more of a twist man on this , as I was with Soldado . Both popular due to their attitudes .

To me Janssen is a risk . We have numerous matches coming up , Kane has to have rest periods . Capable backup is needed for a title charge .

Stick, needs to have a second season.

And then offload him to the Spammers summer next year.

In a new league he seemed to me to struggle last season on the few starts he made. I find it difficult (not unlike with Soldado) to see that another season will see a big change in his game, but would be delighted to be proved wrong on this.

He has that tricky first season under his belt and he's young enough to improve. I'd like to see him get another season with us.

Replacing him is even more of a risk.

Depends if we can actually bring someone in who is a clear upgrade. His goal return outside of pens must be in the top 5 worst ever for spurs strikers in the prem era
He's young so it's possible he'll be a different player next season

But if we could get someone who looked a clear upgrade I'd twist.
Not a much of a Risk as if even new guy turned out to not deliver. Just have swapped no goals for no goals
