I hope we give him a proper chance, Vlads quick intercepts the ball well I think his probably the best ball playing CB we have.

One things for sure he makes the odd mistake but nowhere to the level imo of Verronghen and Kaboul.

So Vlad had a shocker of a game - it happens! He should be given a chance to redeem himself, but it's now up to him to make it up. The sad thing is that it now highlights all his other mistakes, although they're no worse than those committed by our other defenders. What happened with Vlad was most regrettable, but it doesn't change the fact that he's a quality player and can do great for us with the right coaching and support. I hope we stick with him and he gets it together!

Could we turn him into a DM, or is he too slow. Capoue is poor and we thought it was the right time to jettison Sandro, hence we have no exact replacement for Capoue. Both Vlad and Verts have the ball playing skills to play the role. Thoughts?

He can definitely play in that position... be nice to see him as a Gica Popescu 2.0, hot-rodded with a nitro tank of doom!

Nobody said Capoue was 'poor' at the start of the season when he put in a few MOM performances. I agree that he's off form (which has coincided with the introduction of Mason) but I don't see Vlad as a DM and unfortunately I think he lacks the physicality to play CB for us.

We should try him in MF as he is a bit small for CB. His interception, pace and ball passing will be better there, alongside/ in front of Capoue. IMO.. a shape of 433 would be the better formation for us at home. Which will allow for the smaller size pitch we have in comparison to other grounds.
