...is one of the worst players I have ever seen play for us (been a supporter for 13 years). I know some are going to say "he wasn't so bad (last night)-- he had a decent game save for a couple of mistakes." Unfortunately, that's not true- he had an awful game, as usual. In fact the only thing you might say is that that wasn't his worst game in a Tottenham shirt, that, indeed, he's actually been poorer than last night's performance.

It's funny- I was describing him to a friend of mine with whom I was watching the match (a guy who's both new to football and new to Spurs), and I said that Chiriches is good for at least two truly horrendous, head-scratchingly awful plays per game, minimum. Then, literally seconds after I said this, there goes Vlad, doing one of his patented high-wire acts (you know the kind- wherein he gets himself into a bad position and then proceeds to dribble into an even worse one mere feet from goal). I swear it was like he heard me and wanted to demonstrate for my buddy what I was just talking about.

How is it possible for this guy to be this awful? Is he just uncoachable? Obviously he is talented with the ball at his feet-- but how could he be that bad at defending? Isn't he Romania's number one CB?

I think we're all waiting for him to turn some mythical corner and start playing like the steal we thought we might've gotten when the signing was first announced- but is that really going to happen? I'm simply amazed that a player we bought to defend can't actually defend. It's uncanny.

I think him as a CB is suicide and never gonna happen at a top level. I think he may become a decent RB or DM though

Still better than Ricardo Rocha

Also most defenders usually take 5 or 6 games to get back to decent form, now a days people overlook this

I don't think he will turn around but vidic and evra are examples of players struggling to find their feet in their first year or so

Clueless.

defensively is he definitely prone to a lot of mistakes and gives the ball away too easily. But as a RB he does offer an attacking option which is good as we are no narrow without over lapping full backs

as for worst player.............I give you Paulo Tramanezzi (not sure that is spelt right!)

Vlad is the definition of an enigma: physically strong, great technique, attacks with pace, robust tackler, good passing range, but those brain f*rts.... Oy...

The boy certainly has something about him, why else would the likes of Roma/Juve/etc be sniffing around him then? it just has not worked out for him yet, but has it for any of our 7 from summer 13? He needs a prolonged run in the side as opposed to the odd start now and then.

Needs more game time to iron out his mistakes and he'll probably eventually get there or thereabouts but I'm sure you knew this already didn't you as it's the same thing that normally inevitably happens with talented players who need ripening up and confidence.

Why do posters pick one player and say worst player I've seen in a Spurs shirt
Maybe they are not that good but always try the dramatic effect to make a point
Chiriches certainly hasn't set the team alight but worst in 13 years.; most unlikely

Wasn't his worst game last night but he still managed to drop the occasional bollock. The one at the corner flag where he somehow managed to back drag the ball into the path of Willian in our 18 yard box. If only Willian had been on our team it would have been a glorious piece of play.

I think the kindest way to say that I don't like him is......... it would be better for all concerned if he moves in January.

I know I shouldn't but I have a real soft spot for him.

He's the exact combination of thrilling, grotesque and logic-defying I need in my life now that 'The Walking Dead' is on a winter break.
