I can fully understand the the need and the reasoning behind drug testing in sports.

But this "whereabouts" rule trying to be enforced onto football by WADA is just plain stupid, it's as if they haven't thought it through at all!!

Who here can say where they are going to be for an hour every day, up to a year away?

As I say I'm all for anti-doping checks, but make it practical for gods sake. How are people going to want to conform to it if it so awkward?

What's wrong with just doing random checks at games and training sessions, oh I forgot, they already do! So if it's not broken, why fix it? :bang:

Athletes in other sports have done it for years so i don't see anything strange with this. To keep drugs and cheaters away it's a price you'll have to pay for those years you compete at the highest level.

I think you're missing the point, I agree with you that checks should be done. But it should be done in a sensible way so that it's easy to adopt.

Why should the 99% of players that don't take drugs have to account for their whereabouts for an hour every day for up to year in advance, just because of the 1% who do cheat?

Can you? I don't know where I'll be next week, and I work and live in the same location every day!!

Of course it's an extreme solution to the problem and i'm not saying it's the best way.

I've actually seen people filling in forms of where they will be and when so i wanted to mention that i know that it can be done.

Some athletes in Sweden suggested that the could have some sort of chip inserted in their bodys so they could be found via gps and could get rid of all this complicated paperwork.......who knows what they future will look like?

I would hope that the players would be able to put "at training ground" for all but a few of those days then they could put "playing football match see club website for details" for at least 40 days which should leave maybe a day a week max so just put "at home in bed 4.30 am to 5.30 am"

Still think drugs are less a problem in football because it is about so much more than just individual physical strength, mind you I suppose when there is a club regime of giving performance enhancing drugs to the whole squad it must make a difference but you probably need to ask someone like Arsene Wenger about that.

I suspect that with footballers it's more likely to be mood-enhancing rather than performance-enhancing drugs that are the issue anyway.
