Tottenham have told Club Brugge they will have to pay £17million if they want to sign Victor Wanyama.

Source: Evening Standard

They only want to pay £8M so it’s doubtful this will happen.

Guess it all depends on how bad his injuries are.

Also it's the standard so probably bollocks. Pity, used to be a fairly decent paper.

It’s a real shame as he was superb in 2016/17, but it’s pretty clear injuries have robbed him of that level and I don’t see it coming back. He’s well down the pecking order so I’d be happy with £10m or so

Jesus. Take the £8m, run, and get on your knees praying that he passes the medical which i’d put the chances at 50/50 leaning to 45/55 not in the right direction

Don't understand how Levy is willing to let Danny Rose, who was one of our best player in the CL Final, go at a paltry £20M, while wanting £17M for Wayama, who had played only a handful of matches for the past two years.

If levy really does think like

If levy really does think like his he needs to go to an Economics class and learn what a sunk cost is.

He got £18m for wimmer.

Again this is the standard people. They are about as reliable as the express these days.

I’m not saying he shouldn’t screw the maximum fee available out of a buyer (although we’ll never know if we left money on the table through this approach) just saying what we paid for someone is irrelevant. It’s a sunk cost, and there is no reason for any buyer to care about that number

Levy wont care about the cost. He didn't for janssen. With amortisation even if we got £5m for him it would be recorded as a profit in the accounts.

He has a 1st class degree in economics...pretty sure he knows more about finances than the majority of us.
