Who knows. Yrs of occasionally perusing Pool sites though and the innate sense of entitlement they all have, bemoaning how the "likes of Spurs" can ever dare to qualify for the top 4 etc last yr, I'm not going to lose any sleep over their woes.

The big mistake he made was not replacing Alonso. Apart from that, he was one the best managers they have had in years.

I rate Roy Hodgson highly as a manger, but it can sometimes take times for players to adapt to a new manager, and vise versa.

I'm confident Liverpool would be doing much better if Benitez was still in charge. Plus he looks like Max from 'Max and Paddy', which must surely be worth something.

To be fair he thought he had a replacement for Alonso in Gareth Barry.

That alone should indicate how much of a messiah he was.

If Harry won us the Champions' League, we'd probably feel the same about him

What's even more deluded is that they elieve the only man who can turn it around for them is Kenny Dalgleish. When was he last involved in a hands on role? And how did that work out? Niether consideration seems to occur to them.

It's akin to the Geordies who were so desperate to get King Kev back and following that it simply had to be Alan Shearer, no-one else would do. Then after their bungled attempts they are finally sorted out by former longtime Spurs Assistant Manager Chris Hughton.

I questioned the wisdom of Kenny being the next manager in the summer when it was first mentioned, before Roy's appointment.

I live and work in Liverpool and couldn't believe the sentimentality of bringing back Dalglish. He has been more involved with his wife's cancer charity in recent years than he has football. I made these points to the 2 Liverpool fans I work with and mentioned that him being out of the game in a managerial role for so long, coupled with the fact that his later forays into management at Newcastle and DOF at Celtic weren't exactly successful.

It didn't matter, "King Kenny could never lose his midas touch" apparently.
