Match: English Premier League (EPL) - Match Day 4

Referee: Andre Marriner

Form: Watford DWWWW Tottenham Hotspur WLWWW (All competitions)

Watford are winless in their last 13 meetings with us in all competitions (D3, L10) since a 3-2 win at White hart Lane in a League cup tie in October 1994. We are unbeaten in 12 league meetings with Watford (W8, D4) since a 0-1 loss at Vicarage Road in May 1987.

Watford are looking to win their first four league matches of a season for only the second time in their entire history, also doing so in the 1988-89 campaign when they were in the second tier. We have won more EPL points than any other side in 2018 (49), winning 15 and drawing 4 of our 21 matches.

Watford's Roberto Pereyra has a hand in 9 goals in his last 9 EPL appearances at Vicarage Road (7 goals, 2 assists). Lucas Moura has been involved in 8 goals in his eight starts for us in all competitions (4 goals, 4 assists).

Since Javier Gracia's first home EPL match in charge of Watford, only Liverpool (7) have won more home games than the hornets (6).

Harry (Kane) has scored 19 goals in his last 16 EPL starts in games played on a Sunday. Son (Heung-min) has scored 4 goals in his 6 EPL appearances against Watford, more than he has vs any other side in the competition. Unfortunately Son wont be involved on this occasion

We could win our 1st three away EPL matches for the 2nd consecutive season, having also done so in 2017-18. We didn't achieve this feat in any of our 1st 25 EPL seasons.

Looking forward to this one. If we were to beat Watford by 3 clear goals, we will be on top of the league going into the International break. Saying that it wont be easy as we will have to be on top of our A game, without any complacency, to get any points. Any points gained will be hard fought. COYS

It'll be interesting to see how we respond following the win at man u and poch's apparent disapproval of our performance. Hopefully his mind games see us top the table going into the break! Super stoked on all things spurs atm.

I was looking forward to saying what you just said.

But, big but - I'll take a one goal win though just to be up the top.

Think we'll do it. The mindset is there.

I so want this to happen, not just because being top is fucking cool... but to wind up my scouse mates.

2 clear goals would be fine as we'd have scored 1 more than the scousers

That said, absolutely ANY win will be fine for me going into the international break. Will have 3 more players in contention to start afterwards

Not too bothered about being top tomorrow night but I want us to go into the Liverpool game level on points, end their run of form and extend ours. They have a seriously tough run of games in the PL and CL against Chelsea, Napoli, PSG and City starting with that game at Wembley and if we can take the wind out of their sails right off the bat it's all to the good.

First Watford though. Think we'll win it by the odd goal.

A repeat of our performance against the dippers like last October would be amazing. Although they went on an amazing run after that game.

Did we have CL game after Liverpool last year?.

Having said that lets start with all 3 points at Vicarage Rd first.

I'd probably got 3 at the back to contend with them playing two up top, think Sanchez will have a great game.

Im not sure we can even go 3 at the back right now. Looking at the players that we know will 100% play.....

Jan, toby, dier, eriksen, alli, moura, kane.

Which means we would need to leave out dembele and play eriksen deeper which is very dangerous v watford as they are very physical and strong in cm. If we were to play dembele too we would need to drop a forward player which poch wont do either (rightly so right now)

Has 2 be 4231/ 433

I think there’s still space for one more player.

Swap out Alli no 1 with Sanchez and you have your three at the back.

I personally would want us to go with the same team as against United, I just think Dembele in the middle makes a massive difference. Will be great if Lamela will be an option too.

Guess it depends on how dembele is feeling, he won't be able to play many consecutive games now.

I remember we did the same back in 15/16 to combat Deeney and Ighalo, pretty sure it was the first time we did it under Poch and before Conte made it "popular".
