Done well in the sense that Watford are also on a high, and we've limited them to very little and they've been on the back foot for almost all the half. It's been tame up front, but it's also been one of those displays where its a goal away from being a really good performance just in how we've limited Watford.

Lucas has been relatively bright though, gives us another dimension for sure.

Keep it the same for 2nd half. Just need to find the right passes in final 3rd. I really expect more from eriksen. Too flaky
Here we go again.

What did you expect?

I was somebody who dared to point out Dier's flaws in his player thread but there is definitely a place and a time for the guy, I think we could do with him on for Sanchez or Toby, go to a back four, get Dembele up the field a little bit to try and mute Doucoure's presence in that midfield a bit. We've been the better team by far but I have a sneaky suspicion that with the home crowd on the refs back we're going to need to put this to bed, because if we're drawing or one up any contentious decision will be given in their favour.

That is 90% bananas.....

Sanchez and Toby are amongst the most talented on the pitch. The issue is lack of speed with the ball and a flat predictable cm. Dier won't add anything at CB imo.

It’s like most of our home performances so far, taking control of the midfield battle in the first half and setting the tempo without creating any massive chances.

Expect us to repeat what we normally do and come out with slightly quicker movement of the ball at start of 2nd half let the opposition tire and take advantage of the extra space created (y)

Maybe go for 4 at the back? Might leave us a bit more open but gives us more going forward

I'm surprised we don't adopt the "Bus stop" tactic that England had in the WC for corners. With Tripps taking the corners and Verts, Toby, Kane, Deli and Sanchez all capable of getting on the end.

I'd much rather be like this in containing a relatively decent team, even if we haven't been blistering up front than to be scoring but all over the place like Arsenal were against Cardiff.

Always thought this was going to be a toughie. Credit to Watford they've defended resolutely, and we have pretty much nullified their attempts at attack before the point of threatening.

Bit more tempo to our play and get Eriksen more involved. As for the hate on Davies, thought he whipped a couple of decent crosses in first half.

COYS!

He’s improved a lot from last season. Definitely first choice RB for now.
I really can't believe how much Trippier has improved defensively over the past year. He's never going to be a great defender but he's improved to the point that I don't worry about him getting torched every match.

If Rose is leaving in Jan or the next summer, then we need to get in a first choice LB.
Davies doesn’t have the quality to be first choice although I’m fine with him being backup LB.

Did people expect us to just roll Watford over? They are a decent team. Think we've played quite well just not quite clicked in the final 3rd. If we can go up a gear in the 2nd half we should win this.

People's perception of Watford, not their performances, meant they expected a 4-0 spurs win

Hoping that they have run themselves into the ground by 60-65 and we force the issue
